Retiree numbers
How long after a player retired does the AI retire his number if he had a long and successful career with one Team?

in my case the game retired 2 numbers and they would be retired the day after the announcement that they done. No email or big event surrounding that happening is mentioned of which would be a good storyline. I have 2 other players I would love to retire their numbers but didn't.

Has checked other clubs in my solo and noticed that only my team and the Cubs had number retired. NOT been able to confirm though that the players number being retired had to end with the player on team he was great on. The 2 players I had retired numbers (AI done) both players ended careers on my team but the other 2 players who should have gotten number retired finished career on another team. The cub player Rizzo got his number retired for he stayed on the cubs his whole career. with such limited sample but unknown for sure if the pattern beginning to form is really how it works or not.

It appears that a player has to retire as a major leaguer in order for his number to be retired. It's possible for a player to finish his career with one team and have his number retired by another team.
However, if a player retires as a member of a AAA team, his number won't be retired. I've had to manually retire a few numbers as a result of this. |
