Hall of Fame question

If I start a league using a 112 game schedule and later decide to increase the number of games played to say 140,154 or 162, will OOTP make the proper adjustments in regards to Hall of Fame selections? I know Matt said it adjusts for fewer games, but I wonder how it deals with a large increase in games?

Yes, OOTP does a good job of this in my experience.

Cool, trying to get myself back into fictional and I really want to start with a shorter season. Thinking 112 games with 4 man rotations might be a fun way to go.

I read the other day that you use 4 man rotations with stamina set to high/very high. What size bullpen do you use? I can't make up my mind if I want 4 or 5. I have the stamina modifier set to 1.000. I'm using pitcher stamina high, use of closer, rarely and use of relief pitchers, normal. I'm thinking 5. What's your opinion?

Here's a picture of my setup for a fictional I'm running now. This is 162 gm schedule, 24 teams, 2 leagues. DH is on, but I've also done the same with no DH.

I set defensive substitutions to often - just a personal preference of mine as I like teams to put some emphasis on defense.

And here's my setup for a league I'm running with a 3 man rotation.

6 Teams, 20 man active roster. Custom schedule - teams play 6 games a week. Every Sun & Thurs are off days. Mon - Wed, 3 game set. Fri & Sat another 3 game set with every Sat using Dbl headers.

I'm not using the DH to start, so I think I will go with 5, Would be cool to see how many 30 game winners you get with your setup. Thanks for your help.

I'm thinking they can already start on the Devon Ward plaque. Wow!

Ya, I think he's going to be a rare exception when it comes to pitchers.

Here's a look at the Pitching Ldrbrd in Lg history.

Note games started and CG's - about what I expect with this kind of setup

I see he's pitching for the right team as well. Go Detroit.

Do you use a set year for your modifiers or do you let them update by history?

This lg started in 2001 and I had the game automatically adjust league total modifiers up until 2007.

I usually don't use the "auto adjust" but this was my first OOTP16 lg that I really wanted to get into (being on Beta I did mostly nothing but test leagues for longest time) so I let the game adjust them for a few years until I was happy with the results I was getting.

I don't play with player creation modifiers except to adjust SP Stamina up a bit when I go with 4 or 3 man rotations. It's usually set at default 1.000 but I'll up it to 1.150 - 1.250.

Well, he's got 1 more arby eligible year then he can test the market if he wants. Detroit is in good financial shape though so I'm sure every effort will be made to keep him for another 5 years

(My lg setup allows FA after 5 yrs and has 5 yr max lgth contracts)

Before Detroit signs him any chance they can get him to sign a non supermodel clause....

average pitcher stamina will allow them to recover 100% by the fourth day with the same mechanics as a 5-man you are probably familiar with in ootp. ie you can still be slightly tired (80-some percent) on the 4/5th day if you pitched too much the previous start.

BTW - Ward was drafted 4th rnd, 73rd over-all. Nice surprise for Detroit when he blossomed. They won the Title last season and I expect they'll win a few more. They have 2 studs in the line-up, a 1st and a 2nd over-all draft pick in back to back yrs.. CF and C - 5 tool players who reached their potential. The ages of these 3 are 23, 23, and 25. If they can afford to keep all 3 might be a dynasty in the works.

Check out Detroit's Pre season predictions this year. This league uses 4 man rotation, look at the predictions for their starters. Talk about a powerhouse lol. Could be the next evil empire
