Ability vs. Tools
Scouts favors ability or tools. Explain?
Tools: Their ratings on 20-80 or is it the actual tools What would ability be? Which is best for a scout? I prefer my scout like guy who's ratings are best on the 20-80 scale for example. (I'm not saying that 1-10 or 1-100 are different in terms of how good they are than 20-80, I think you get what I mean, right? Maybe.) |

Highly favour ability means looking for current baseball ability and inferring what the future holds based on current ability. This means not as many superstars are found by your scout. Also pitchers will have lower potential ratings in the draft. Hope this helps. |
