New exporter released
Exporter v5 version 1.02 has been released. Changes are:
Rating columns now report "true" ratings (using the same exact formulas Markus uses in the game to report ratings). Scout columns for ratings and talents have been added to the end of the players.csv file. The columns that report the true ratings are the columns that CATO is setup to use. So, when you use this with CATOs utility, it'll automatically switch to use the real ratings. Since the scout ratings have been added to the end, CATO will ignore those.

So if we are using this in a league where they use scouts, we should use the old exporter, and in other leagues with scouts turned off, this one is better to use?

That's completely up to you. The talent that was reported was ALWAYS the "true" talent of the player. The ratings were the only thing that matched up with the scout.
For now, BOSI will ONLY be dealing with "true" ratings and talents until I can modify it to use both sets. As for CATO, only Cato would be able to tell you that

One more question..
![]() Can you explain to me again why the "true ratings" that the new exporter now reports show different ratings than what you actually see in the game now, even when scouts are off? Where before this most recent version, what we saw were consistant with what the in game reports showed us.. Does this mean that even with scouts off, we dont actually see the right rating, but instead still see a "scout" rating? |

I am using the exact same formulas Markus uses to report the ratings. They shouldn't be different then what you see in the game with scouts turned off. To be sure, find one that is different, then turn on the editor to see if the ratings change. I wouldn't think they should.

I just downloaded the exporter and ran it for last week's update. I got a HUGE list of development changes for every team. The ratings in BOSI do not match OOTP. We have scouts turned off. I looked at the CSV file for one player, and it shows the player's HR ratings as follows:
BRat OvHR = 12 BRat RHR = 12 BRat LHR = 12 Scout BRat RHR = 12 Scout BRat RHR = 12 (I assume there was a typo in the header, and this should be LHR.) Scout BRat OHR = 10 BOSI is showing that the guy's Power went from 10 to 12. OOTP still shows him as having Power 10 in its HTML pages. I still haven't looked at the game itself, yet, but assuming the game shows 10. Which one is right? OOTP or BOSI?? And why the sudden change? |

Confirmed in OOTP. The player's HR ratings (with scouts OFF and turning on Editor) are 12 for RH, 12 for LH and 10 Overall (which does not make much sense to me).
Sounds like the columns the exporter has listed as Scout ratings are what OOTP is showing in the game and in its HTML output! |

OK, I just finished another sim week. None of the exported numbers changed. There was no "bounce back" in BOSI.
The Exporter must have its Actual and Scout columns mixed up. Otherwise, when I would go into the OOTP player editor, I'd see the stats change. They don't. Scouts are definitely OFF. Either that or OOTP is using the wrong numbers....ewwwww....

Yikes! Sorry to besmirch your good name, Joe, because YOU ARE RIGHT!! It is an OOTP bug!
As an experiment, I turned Scouts ON and looked at the player noted above. When I looked at him in normal view, he still showed 10 Power. But when I went into Editor mode, his actual Power showed as 12! So, the Exporter is correct after all. OOTP is ALWAYS showing Scout ratings, even when Scouts are turned OFF. To throw another twist on it, the BOSI Development Report is only off for the week that ended with the Sept 1st games. This week, everyone that shows up on the Development Report in BOSI matches what OOTP says. So, could this be some sort of strange OOTP scout bug that happens upon roster expansion??? My Theory: OOTP always shows Scout view, even when Scouts are turned off. The numbers are always the same, so no big deal usually. However, when the Scouts are OFF on Sept 1, a bug makes it update certain players' ratings anyway.

Interesting research trail. Just out of curiosity, what do the scout columns in the CSVs say? Do they say 10 for that guy with power, or 12?

This week they did not change. The CSV still shows 12,12,12 for actual and 12,12,10 for scout.

Sorry for me taking a little while to reply. Here is an example of someone that the new exporter is feeding into BOSI with incorrect ratings. The league has scouts off, and when we turn the editor on, it still shows the same ratings in game. The only place with different ratings is BOSI...
The OOTP page for the player: http://www.rwbl.ootp-leagues.com/league/p1774.html The BOSI page for the player: http://www.poweredbydan.net/rwbl/pla...e.php?pid=1774 You will see the Stuff rating is 8 in OOTP everywhere we look. in bosi it says 6.. That I guess was my initial question on why the difference?

I don't know. Markus sent me the formulas he uses to compute the ratings and told me the fields he bases them on. So, that's what I used.
Please send me your league files(or the link to them) .. bosi@allin1websolutions.com. I'll dig into it. Thanks
