Blog Seasons?

Hey Everyone

I have been playing OOTP for the past 3 years and while I love it, I was trying to figure out how to make it more immersive. Over the past few months, I have been on the Dynasty Reports page. Since then, I have decided that it would make it feel even more real to write about my league constantly. This will allow me to remember the small things.

So my question for you is, besides the Dynasty Report threads, have you used any blogging sites to blog about your league?

I started one on blogger (Through Google) which seems great.

You can do a lot with a blog you can't do just posting here.

I haven't with OOTP but I did back in the day have a active blog for a fictional race track that was based off the slot car track in my house. Pretty much any time friends came over and raced I made it a "race day". Was fun and make the track way more entertaining.

If I ever get to the point where I feel like making a dynasty for my league I'll probably start a blog for it instead of just posting here. Granted it's not like you'll get anymore people reading it then here.

Yup. The main reason I want to do it is because it makes it more immersive. However, I'd still like people to read it. But you're right, not as many people would on a blog since it's a different site.

My site is not really a blog, but it's similar to one. After an update I just post with the link in my sig and people visit the site. Have no idea how many, but there are some regulars. Still, even if not, I simply do it for myself because it helps me get immersed in my fictional universe.

You might want to check out the Rockway Times by English_Ray. It's a league that uses a true blog format to chronicle it's history....

DreamTeams is right, Rockway is a really great example. English_Ray did a great job of creating a truely immersive dynasty.

You'd get readers from here. Just do small posts in a dynasty thread and link to the blog. I was more meaning you wouldn't get readers outside of OOTP.

Wow that is truly amazing. I just started up my blog last night and will be posting the link in the upcoming week. I need to find out how to make the blog look appealing :-)

Just take a look at some of your favorite sports sites and try to emulate what you like about them. It also helps if you're good a photoshop and things like that to really dress up things.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks a ton! :-). So I am currently using a Google product called "Blogger". Does anyone have any other suggestions of some free or cheap blog sites to use? I do have Photoshop, just not the best with it :-)

I use blogger. I like it better then wordpress since I feel it is easier to navigate. You might have different results though.
