Draft budget
I am in a single players game as gm and coach and the owner keeps on setting a draft budget that doesn't allow me to sign top players (probably because I am over budget). How to I modify and raise this bugdet number for the draft?
To get around it I went into the editor for each player and assigned then to my team but the game keeps on assigning me compensation picks. Thanks for your help? Last edited by dedewhale; 06-17-2015 at 09:36 AM. |

Umm, not to be snarky but try working within your budget and don't draft players you already know you won't be able to afford.
As for altering your financials I can't help you. I've never needed nor wanted to. |

Yes I do understand that...the budget system in my league is very out of whack. Even when I adjusted- increased the overall budget for my team it didn't change the amount of signing money the owner gave me.

Yeah financials would be a start did you change anything? What type of league is this btw. Are you playing the standard MLB setup?

It's a fictional league. Only 6 teams. If I remember correctly, I have a soft cap set up with a revenue sharing tax. Owners set budgets at beginning of year. When I edit financial there is no line item for draft budget. So I tried changing cash on hand and overall budget number but it had no effect on the draft cap set up by owner.

The draft budget is fixed based on the league settings for slot bonus baseline. But if you have extra cash or budget space available, you can use that extra on the draft. We don't have a hard cap like they do currently in the MLB.

So to fix this I need to edit my finances right before the draft and add cash. Once players are signed I can redo the cash on hand to negative again?

couple options might be relevant:
do you have entire budget available, or does the owner set it? also, if it's an amateur draft do you have the slot income requirements on, or whatever it's called? limited rookie budget vs. no bonus limitations. |
