Pitcher injury, reliever warm up

When a starting pitcher gets injured, my relievers always seem to walk a batter or two, give up hits. In real life, the incoming pitcher gets to warm up for as long as necessary. The game doesn't show us that the new pitcher is ready. Does anybody know if the pitcher comes in "cold" in the game? Or does the game get them ready on its own?

Thanks for bringing this up, I have wondered about this for years, but I have not seen any consistency regarding the performance of the RP when he enters the game. I always put a second RP in the bullpen immediately when this happens to be ready for trouble

I had always noticed it in years of playing. Have no proof other than my eyes. The strength of my team this year is the bullpen. I've had 3 starting pitcher injuries. In all 3 games, the reliever brought in has walked batters and given up hits. Coincidence? Perhaps. But I have noticed it before and have been playing the game since before 6.5

After an injury, whoever you bring in is defaulted to being warmed up, like in real life.

Thanks Matt!! Coincidence then. I'll just attribute it to my relievers being mentally u prepared to come into a game in the second and third innings
