Owner Goals - Upgrade Position

Where do you find this information about rankings?

My owner wants me to upgrade at SS and he is happy mid-season as he says my SS went from 24th to 16th - but WHERE DO YOU FIND THAT?

When I look at the MLB report for positional rankings, it says my SS is 28th in the league? Where is the owner getting the information that he's now 16th?

Thanks, I'll check that tonight.

Part of my issue was my starting SS was on the DL so I had a top prospect playing in his place (forgot about the original SS since he had been out for 2 months).

Ok it matches this screen, but on the league position ranking screen, it says he's 17th? When on the meet the team screen, it says he's 19th. Doesn't lineup, bug?

Hm, I just checked my 3 screens in a league with a position upgrade, and it says the same rank on all 3 screens. Maybe the league positional rankings don't update dynamically? Just a guess, otherwise, I'm not sure why they wouldn't line up (they're both OSA reports, after all).

You don't even have to sign anyone new. Just take one of your top players at another position and change them to a left fielder. Your owner will think you upgraded.

I was wondering if that was something you could do to fulfill the upgrade request... are they looking for who is listed at the particular position, or who is actually playing the position in the lineup?

Owner goals is kind of misleading term. In reality more of these goals would be GM goals. But since we as players can play as both GM and manager the only real way to dictate them coming from "higher up" is to say owner goals.

Just think of them as team goals and the owner keeps tabs on if you complete them.

No, they are goals for the GM, given by the owner. I'm the GM, and they aren't my goals, but IRL most owners do get involved in high level decisions of the "do we resign our superstar" and "what are our priorities" caliber. And yep, they are occasionally irrational and stupid. IMHO that's not a bug, it's a realistic feature.


To me, it's foolish to waste time trying to meet all of them, or find ways to cheat to cover up. AFICT, as long as you win, your job is safe. It's only when the team is losing that you really have to start catering to the old man's whims to stay safe. IMHO, that's more realism.

Interesting.. I do think they were the same at one point. I'll see if it rights itself at one point, thanks.
