How intelligent if the artificial intelligence?

I have this probably mis-guided notion that I can come out like gang bangers with an all out running game that will keep the computer controlled manger checking first later in the game, only to switch up my strategy later in the game to hit-away with the pitchers distracted and behind in the count.

I almost swear it works, but somehow I doubt that the computer manager is tracking my past moves in the game, let alone the season. Does the game kept track of jlking as a manager and look at a database of past decisions I make? '18% of the times early in the game jlking as a manager plays hit and run with no outs and a runner on first. Pitch out and throw out the runner trying to steal second'

If not, it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to do. When a human is managing a game, keep track of what they do and have the artificial manager make choices based on past decisions.

Not that smart. You're imparting too much human-ness to a statistical engine. If you want to run like gang busters make sure your SB success % is above modern day numbers. The AI is there to make sure your league totals and league total modifiers are in line. It doesn't care about manager tendencies. It only cares that players fit into a certain bell curve dependent upon their ratings. This game, as great as it is, has far less statistical evaluation per outcome than you think.

If you run too often your success rate will suffer just as it would IRL.

I think you are confusing the "results engine" with the AI. League totals and modifiers influence rate statistics that result from play. The AI is concerned with player management, rosters and use, including game strategy. It has no direct influence on play results other than its choice of players and/or a particular strategy.

By all means try it and report back on how it works out.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
