Split season standings
I have never used a split season type before, did a test run with a one league, one division of ten teams setup..this might be a stupid question, but where can i see the second season half standings? I can only see which team currently leads the second half of season..
Thanks.. |

You can't. OOTP only shows the overall standings. There is no way to select either just the first half or second half standings.

As Le Grand Orange said you can't. As someone who uses the split season format in one sub-league leagues. I wish you could.

I made the suggestion for years that there should be a way to toggle between the first half, second half, and overall standings. There simply wasn't much interest in this sort of minor league-focused detail getting incorporated.

As the custom fictional side of the game starts coming into its own has it has over the last couple versions. Things like split season standings and other items considered "non-MLB" should be looked into. The game has changed a lot and I don't doubt that the amount of users playing fictional over standard MLB is higher then people think.

In regards to the split-season format, not only can you not see the first half and second half standings separately, you cannot customize their playoffs, cannot specify when the half ends (that's determined automatically), there's no provision for deciding how to handle clubs which win their divisions in both halves, and lastly I'm pretty sure the tie-breaking is not optimal. (The foregoing are the kinds of details which landed in the "rejected" camp. Maybe that'll change someday, but in all honesty, I doubt it.) |

So if split season is an option that just plain doesn't work up to a level that players expect, why is it included? It should be either fixed or removed.

It was first added way back in either OOTP 2006 or OOTP 2007/OOTP 8. It's had very little improvement added to it since then. As to why little has been done with it, that's because while some details have a lot of backers, other details do not. Split-seasons are one of those with few backers. And if there's only a small number of people pushing for an idea, that means there's more people to oppose it and thus it's less likely to garner interest from the developers.
