actually i was out of town for a week, missed the games and only got the highlights on ESPN, but i could tell it had that extra special "bob boone" bad taste. I'm sick of bowden and his lies and i'll be the first one to kick him in the ass when he's on his way out the door. His act has worn wayyyyyyyyyyy too thin.

Too bad! As a Cardinals fan I was always comforted knowing that Bowden and Boone -- easily the worst manager in the game today -- would always mishandle the Reds. Hopefully they drag up some folks who are just as incompetent to take their places...

Seriously, though, about time! Those guys needed to go in the worst way...

I might trade him for Grady Little if you throw in Kerrigan.

Well he was already basically traded to the Cubs earlier in the month (he's arbitration eligible and the Reds always trade away these players anymore)but I think the Reds were asking for far too much (ie the Cubs pay his salary and give up 2 or 3 prospects) and the Reds didn't realize that it worked the other way around. So if he isn't traded this season he's going to be gone in December probably for "another" 3rd base prospect.

What's a shame about all of this is that the media is once again blaming Griffey for this when their offense is far from their problems. He has nothing to do with Linder wanting to have the lowest payroll in the league and being so cheap that he hires Boone because he can get him for the minimum salary when he would have trouble managing his grandson's little league team.

**Edit**
Well this goes to show what a braintrust the Reds ownership is, they tell Bowden on Friday that he MUST trade Williamson, Sullivan, White, and another pitcher by the trading deadline and then fire him 3 days prior to the deadline. I guess if they waited until after 31st they would of had to of paid Bowden an extra $1.50 or something so they would rather just let the team be ran into the ground instead of that happening.

He got that from Gammons and Starke on espn and I think it's a big bunch of crap.
Bowden and Gammons were always close and I think this is Bowden's poison the water and deflect the blame last shot at the Reds.
Nothing was ever Bowden's fault ya know.
