AI Waived My Ace

So I was tired and lazy last night and wanted to quick fill my active roster for the preseason. Used the AI to setup organization and a couple quick simmed days later my Ace was claimed off waivers. I had a truly wtf moment. He is young led ERA, Wins and WAR year before. Anyways, I was wonder if there is a way I can force him back to my team?

It was the only player it waived. Did it to make room on my 40 man roster maybe? Even though some of the guys remaining on it were half star actual/potential.

You mention he was young, what was his OVR and are you using pure ratings?

4 1/2 stars, 28 under contract for the next five years at somewhere between 10 and 15 mil per.

Not sure what you mean by pure ratings, I took a couple years off from this game so I don't know the setting choices by heart yet.

What was your pitcher's ratings? Most guy will tell you to use WAY less ratings (like 15% or less). You could have a guy who is doing well but has poor ratings who the AI will not value bc of your settings. Also, check overall based on AI evaluation not pure ratings. That will allow the statistics to be used more in the AI's decisions (especially when you lower the ratings %)

His ratings are good 4.5 stars, his stats were good. He has an awesome contract for what he offers. Ending with a team option year on his age 33 year. I have three other pitchers rated close to the same with comparable contracts. 1 of those guys was on the DL. It chose to keep two guys that were essentially half star to 1 star.

These forums have been very helpful. Scanning them for my issue prior to posting has yielded a great amount of tips and tricks that I will be putting to use.

Except the AI sees the decline coming because you are playing with pure ratings. That is the only thing I can think of.

This is the main reason why so many of us initially went to AI Evaluation in the first place. I would bet that pitcher is about to fall off a cliff.

Save it as a quickstart, and then sim that game out a year and see if he falls off a cliff for us if you have the time? It would help a great deal!

Especially with the scouting on Very High, the AI is seeing something you aren't. Let us know how it works out if you can. If you are able, take a screenshot from where you start the quickstart and after one year of the player's ratings screen.

Yea other than roster limits (which doesn't seem to be the case here since its ML QS?) pure ratings may be the problem. Also 28 seem to be the age where players start to decline.

Yeah, I weighed in as you were posting and said its even more likely to be the case with his scouting set to "Very High."

I'm betting he either falls off that cliff or is on his way to like a torn UCL or something equally nasty.
