Ugh!!!!

Game 155, a one game tie breaker to decide who faces Atlanta in the World Series. Houston leads Chicago 3-0 at the end of 7. Game called due to rain.

Glad to see the '**** the Cubs'™ code makes it into each and every new version.

There seem to be too many rain delays in this game but I can't back that claim up by fact.

So why make the claim? Facts matter.

Would love to hear some opinions on this matter. Do you think in real life a game of this magnitude would ever be decided in a rain shortened manner? There were 2 off days prior to the start of the World Series.

As for my UGH! Chicago has been a come from behind team all season(at least in the games I have watched) and I was looking forward to a fantastic finish. The rain was kind of like a punch in the gut.

I don't think the rainouts are excessive, no.

However, I do agree with you, David. IRL, the game would have gone into the wee hours or even been suspended. Too much at stake in one game.

I've been pleasantly surprised and pleased by the rate of rain effected games. I admit, I was really worried that this new feature would become a pain, but in my opinion it's a great addition to the game. But, I do think it can be improved.

I have yet to have a rain out DURING a game. (I was actually wondering if they existed before this post.) I have had games called due to rain before they ever played, however.

I recently had a three game series in Milwaukee have two games rained out, but we still got them all in before the weekend was up.

DAY ONE: Rain Out
DAY TWO (Now a DOUBLE-HEADER): Game One played. Game Two: Rain Out
DAY THREE (Now a DOUBLE-HEADER): Both games played.

In today's MLB, post-season and tiebreaker games cannot be shortened due to weather. That rule was enacted after the 2008 season.

Does this rule include a tie breaker game that would be considered a regular season game? This was game 155 of a 154 game season. Chicago and Houston tied for 2nd place. 12 team league, no divisions.

Yes, it does. Tiebreaker games that decide a division or wild card must go the distance too.

Really hope we can get Markus to tweak this in a patch. Then again, it might not be a simple thing to do.

I play out all my games and I am two seasons in and never have I had a called game/suspended game. I have had rain out and new doubleheaders. I think about six times per season, so not too bad. Did not like having back to back doubleheader days, one to make up for a rain out and one for the 4th of July days of yor traditional double header.

Weather is changing around the world. With that said there I wouldn't be surprised about an occasional April snow-out for teams in the Northeast US.
