I sim one day at a time in GM mode. Depending on life commitments, it takes me about 3-4 weeks to go through a season. I try to make it through 2 game weeks every time I sit down to play, though the draft, twice yearly minor league house cleaning, and spring training cuts usually take a whole real life day.

I play as GM & Manager (set lineups/pitching) and sim day by day and read each box score and most game logs of my team. I like to keep an eye out for hot streaks, cold streaks, team records and player progression (I play hidden actual ratings) and of course I deal with all injuries and Active roster decisions.

I really try to dive into the league to get a feel for what teams are good, where the rivalries are and which teams are hot and not. I'm constantly checking other team pages to see who's hurt and their monthly schedule. I'm also constantly checking the top players, prospects and farm system lists along with the position by position rankings.

I keep an close watch on my top specs but let my minor lg managers handle all the other noise.

I submit my All-Star ballot and HOF ballot and manually select end of the year awards.

all in all it takes me about 1-2 weeks to get through a season if I can play everyday.

But damnit OOTP I've avg. about 2 hrs less sleep a night since ootp16 has been released!

Depends. If it's historical, at least a month or two, because I like to fiddle around with stuff in Commish mode, making sure the lineups are accurate and whatnot.

If it's fictional...I've been known to complete a season in one day. Usually two or three, though.

What's the rush?

I play out every game, including Spring Training. (Though mostly in one pitch mode).

I am currently in 2017 of a game I started at the beginning on the 2013 (real) baseball season so about 6 months per season.

Having said that, I play four different Dynasties at once, rotating through them, so in real terms it is a quarter of that time.

What teams have you played or are they fictional?

Everybody has their own way of playing, and that is absolutely cool, but I have to say that if the game was ONLY 'sim all games and plow through a season in a few hours' I would have stopped playing by now.

Anticipation is part of the fun.

isn't that the truth... the variety of play style options is one of the things that makes this a great game... I'm all over the spectrum with play styles and it all depends on what I'm trying to accomplish...

if I'm testing out new settings/etc, I'll hit the 'sim to' button and plow through 20 seasons in an hour or two to get an idea of the type of stats that setup will return.

if I'm playing GM, it might take a day or two per season (still sim games/let the manager handle the day-to-day stuff).

and sometimes I'll play GM in the stadium suite, watching the play-by-play of the game to see how my team performs on a pitch to pitch basis (but still rarely meddle with the on-field decisions)
