Draft Issues, My Fault Need Help
I'm having issues in the MLB draft and I'm pretty sure it's my setup issue, not the game. I'm not very technically savvy so I'll do my best to describe what's happening and I appreciate any feedback.
I'm playing in the MLB quick start (2020 draft just completed). I created two feeder leagues when I began the game, a high school and college. Prior to the 2020 season, I had the draft set to feeder leagues + additional players. I had the draft set for 40rds and generate players for 41rds. For the 2015 draft through 2019 drafts, there were between 50-100 4-5 star potential players (using either my scout or the OOTP scouting). Both me and the AI were drafting 5 star potential players in rds 4-8. Also, I was seeing many players aged 18 or 19 that were labeled "college" and less than 10 21-23yr old players labeled "college". I checked my College Feeder league settings and have the age min/max at 18/23 and the draft eligibility starts at 1yr prior to max age. Prior to the 2020 season I switched the draft feeder mode to "feeder leagues only"as I thought maybe this was the issue with seeing so many 19yr p;d college players. I still had the draft set for 40rds and to create players for 41rds. The 2020 draft just completed and only went 18rds as there were no more players left. Also, the number of 4-5star rated players dropped to 12players and the "19yr old college players" disappeared. My want is to have the draft consist of high school and college players (appropriate ages) from my feeder leagues and have a 40rd draft that models RL. Also, I was hoping that this draft would not be loaded (50-100 players) with 4-5 star potential but be more balanced. Any thoughts on how I could accomplish this. Again, I believe this is my issue not OOTP. Thanks in advance. |

How many colleges and high schools are in your feeders? It sounds like they all went through one whole class of players and then had no more players coming up through them.

What are your draft settings it sounds like you have "All Players Available" set.

Also, I was noticing that there are several college players aged 21yrs old that were not eligible for the draft this year (current league date 7/4/2020) even though it was their third or junior year of college. |

Not sure where the "all players available" setting is. Under the Amateur draft settings, I have the draft feeding mode set to "Feeder league players only". When I had it set to Feeder league players plus additional players, I was getting 50-100 18 &19yr old college players.

Do you use feeders and have you followed the guide? I'm asking because I'm curious how different the draft pool will be having 150+ feeder teams vs picking feeder leagues plus additional players for draft eligibility. |
