The agony of defeat!!!

man what a game! I've got to say this is the toughest OOTP game I've played in years. In my Rockies rebuild franchise I lost the WS last season in game 7 (to Boston) after having the best record in MLB. This year I again had best record in MLB (by 1 gm over Cubs) and lost in game 7 of NLCS to the hated Nats!

back in 2015 season the Nats were shopping Strasburg in his walk year and I traded Corey Dickerson, Justin Morneau, Jordan Lyles and 2 specs for him and then signed him to a 9-yr, $256.5M contract ext. hoping he would lead me to the promise land and not turn into the modern day Mike Hampton!

Well in the last 2 seasons Strasburg is 50-6 in the regular season...yea, 50-6 (my offense is pretty good), but in the last 2 post season he's almost unstartable!
2-5 in 9 GS, 5.44 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, 4.44 FIP, -1.4 WPA, 63 H, 11 HR and .385 BABIP in 51.1 IP. He's lost both game 7's for me the last two playoffs!!

while this is very frustrating, especially when you spend 8 hours of your Saturday playing OOTP, it's the agony of defeat that keeps me coming back to play another season and chasing that elusive World Series Championship!

well, I guess it's time to start the off-season and hope my stars don't magically decline!

I can't think of a better way to spend your Saturday...unless of course you play for 9 hours.
