Disable Player Development

Hi Guys,

I'm absolutely new to the game and have one question. I started a historical game with cleveland in 1900. In the settings i disabled player development, because i want that the players keep the ratings the whole career. My understanding of disabling player development is, that let's say, a player with 4 stars keeps 4 stars all his career long. They wouldn't drop or rise. But after actually starting the game i saw that they still drop in stars...

Is there some other option i need to turn on/off to prevent players from changing the star value ?

many thanks !

For what it sounds like you're looking for, the best thing I can think of is to do the following:
- Go to League Options screen
- Click "Players & Facegen" tab
- Look on the left-hand side of the screen for the "Player Development Settings" section
- Set Batter Aging Speed & Pitcher Aging Speed to 0.000
- You may want to keep "Disable Player Development" clicked off

No clue how the game would handle these settings, so give this a shot & see if it's better

Dropping Batter Dev Speed & Pitcher Dev Speed to 0.000 may also help with what you're looking for

I assume that even with those settings that the players wouldn't keep their current ability forever though

Wondering why you started with Cleveland in 1900 vs 1901?

The stars are how good the player is based on other players in the league as well so just because their stars drop doesn't mean their ratings will. Do the stars drop after a draft or is it just after a month or something ?

Keep in mind that if you have recalc enabled, players ratings will change according to their real life performance. So, even if you disable player development, players ratings will still change.

I think you should try disabling player development and turn the Player Recalc Ratings on. This will keep the players performing just like they did in real life and give you the most "realistic" results possible in terms of the individual player stats.
