2) No one here hates him in the least. Quite to the contrary. Most of us Tigers fans love him and are simply praying that his bat doesn't cause DD to pull the plug on him as the Detroit everyday SS.

Wow, where in the world did you come up with the idea that anyone hates him? I'm rooting for this kid more than I can remember rooting for someone in a very long time. I just don't trust our GM to give him a fair chance. Ugh, maybe you were just joking.

Oh and on a side note, I'm in a AL only fantasy league. For the second year in a row I have a "no Indians allowed" rule in place for my team. Not because I dislike the Indians players, fans or even the city of Cleveland. It's all because I get pissed beyond belief everytime I hear a Indians highlight featuring Tom Hamilton. Why does that dude feel the need to yell at the top of his lungs? Strange thing is, he's actually a pretty good basketball guy on the Big 10 network. Needless to say, it isn't easy to win a AL fantasy league when you rule out players from one whole team. But sometimes you just have to take a stand, no matter how silly it is Last edited by David Watts; 04-11-2015 at 10:55 AM. |

![]() Hamilton is quite excitable, shall we say. I can see how others would find him obnoxious. He can be overly dramatic. He's getting a bit of Marty Brennaman old man grumpiness too. Announcing is super subjective anyway. You know, you don't HAVE to watch the highlights of ALL your fantasy players...just sayin'

Actually, when I end up hearing him is when I'm riding in the car listening to the radio. It kind of sneaks up on me. It's funny how something so silly can get under my skin.

Alright, down a run, late innings and they are into the bullpen.
Let's see what these guys are made of.

Two comebacks! I like it. ... although, that just gives the pen another shot at blowing it for good.

Great offensive display! I love this.
The pen sure is what we thought it would be though - whew, buckle up.

As a Pirates fan, really not looking forward to facing you guys next. Especially if we lose to Milwaukee again today, it could be a thoroughly miserable week!
Have been enjoying watching the Tigers so far though. |

Oh oh, 1 full week in and Miggy is hitting .520. Nice little 3 game set for him against the Indians, 11-14 2 home runs, 6 RBI.

Miggy's running better than I remember seeing him run in probably 3 years. About when he lost the weight to go play 3rd, for sure before the injuries.
I'm trying not to get TOO excited over 6 games, but a healthy Miggy, along with Kinsler, J.D., VMart, and Cespedes in the middle of the order, plus just a LITTLE bit of production out of Avila, Iglesias, and Gose and this offense will be wearing out pitchers all season. Verlander's injury is a concern, whether Simon is going to be able to give a full season as a starter(tiring after 75 pitches the other day wasn't a great first impression) is a concern, and whether Shane Greene is for real(my gut says yes, but I have to see it first) is a concern, but I think ultimately the rotation will work itself out. Lobstein is good enough to give us 3-4 starts right now if JV needs a little time to get right, not a bad depth guy to have hanging around Toledo. It all comes down to the pen. I trust Soria in the 9th and I trust Alburquerque. Past that? Everyone's going to have to prove themselves. I like what I see out of Nesbitt early, Joba was good the first half of last year, and Hardy was a solid LOOGY last season. But forcing me to trust anyone other than Soria or Al in a key spot is going to take time. |

A curiosity question: of the 30 teams, how many have a 'trustworthy' bullpen? Meaning, how many have a bullpen where there is at least a good solid 7th inning guy, setup, and closer? Having a reliable LOOGY or long relief are a plus. I'm just curious how feasable having a 'trustworthy' bullpen is.

I surely hope the division comes right down to the wire. I'm not convinced the KC offense can (well, it probably cannot) keep up what it is doing but I think the potching can. Detroit on the other hand looks to me like a team that so long as they stay healthy for the most part they'll hit and hit some more. (Well, except I'm still not a JD Martinez believer but I probably compensate for that because I am a huge Miggy believer).

With that said, if we can get Hardy back to being a good LOOGY and have at least Alburquerque and Soria solid in the 8th and 9th(also meaning they tell Nathan to check his ego and bring him in a middle relief role), then I'm instantly not near as concerned. Of course that also means Simon and Greene have to be able to go at least 6 consistently. |
