Are 2015 rules in place for:

1. Challenges?

2. Sending down to minors and bringing back up in terms of 'the player must spend X amount of time in the minors before he can be brought back up'

3. Any FA cannot be traded until he spends X amount of time with signing team. (not sure if that rule actually exists)

1. I don't think challenges are part of the game play. Unless it does it on its own during the play by play in the simulator. But regardless I don't think replays are there.

2. No and I love it haha

3. Nope, just checked and I could trade Hanley on opening day. The rule does actually exist IRL. I think it's the middle of June

It would be cool to have all of those things as options for OOTP 17.

Adding Challenges is a much bigger thing than you think.

First they have to add bad calls.

No thanks.

No challenges this year. We can think about them for next year, but it's not like you're given a lot of info in the game to challenge on.

2 no, although I'd like to get it in sometimes. The problem is getting the AI to not screw up and accidentally invalidate all their players.

3 it's not hard coded in, but there is code to make the AI reluctant to trade players it just signed. This won't apply to off-season changes from this winter as the game starts "fresh" in a new game.

One thing I noticed that is in the game that shouldn't be is collisions at home plate. I was screwing around one game and made Dalton Pompey steal five bases in one game (all successfully, I might add), and two of those times he stole home. The first time the catcher was late with the tag, but the 2nd time they collided and the catcher dropped the ball (literally and figuratively).

In what way should that not be in the game? Collisions still happen. Pompey actually ran into a Red Sox catcher who was 15 feet up towards 3B and straddling the line about 10 days ago in ST.

Let's not get carried away because MLB can't get the HP play right.

I believe there is an actual date or day count (May 30/60 days) for FA signings. That could be coded maybe.

Plus, a lot of us play baseball prior to the last few years.

Same reason I really don't want challenges added unless they are historically accurate or able to be turned off.

Speaking of rules it would be nice to have, how about 0-pitch IBBs as an option?

Until MLB goes that way, I doubt we would add it. There's enough work to get all the rules that exist now into the game before we add rules that aren't in yet

Fair point. I can see it being added in the next couple of years. I personally dislike the rule and would never use it anyway.

Glad Markus is old school on this one. Especially since I play fictional. Doesn't happen often, but it's exciting when it does. Wouldn't care if he ever made it optional, but I'd definitely play with it on.
