HOF Voting - Trending Downward?
Hi all,
I was thrilled by the inclusion this year of realistic HOF voting, and also love that my ballot is not a completely decisive factor in the voting. I am a little bit confused, though. I started a fictional league, and am just now getting to the point where players are eligible for the HOF. It's probably been about 4 or 5 years now with eligible players. Strangely, in each year, players' total percentages have declined, not risen. Isn't this generally the complete opposite of how it works IRL? From everything I have seen or heard, players' vote totals generally rise. This seems odd, then, that literally every player has declined in each successive year. One thing that it could be: I am trying to create a restrictive Hall, for the best of the best, so, as yet, I have not yet voted for anyone to get into the Hall. Could my not voting for anyone be causing everyone to decline in vote total? Has anyone else experienced universal decline in voting totals? |

It all depends on the player. Generally speaking, players who have low support (under 30-40%) will tend to fall over time. Players above that point will likely rise.
If you submit a blank ballot, then most likely players will continue to have low support, and the lower they are the more likely they are to fall. But you should see some guys rise and eventually make it. Also, each update sometimes the voting logic will change slightly, so if last year your HOF voting was on the previous patch of the game, the newer patch may change voter moods and drop some players' vote totals. |

I believe Matt has said in another thread that the human vote does carry more weight than the AI's.
