Not an amazingly crazy game but quite a crazy game for the first game of the season on my first official league on OOTP16.

Mexico Diablos Rojas v Saltillo Saraperos

4-0 down in the first, got back to 4-2, then went ahead 5-3 with a 3 run homer That disappeared with a 3 run double for Saltillo and another run to put them 7-5 ahead at the 7th inning stretch.

A quick rendition of Take Me Out To The Ballgame suitably motivates the players and we're back in it with 2 runs and it's 7-7 going into the 8th.

After a scoreless 8th inning in comes my closer.

Two successive doubles and it's 8-7 Saltillo. An intentional walk and an unintentional one and the bases are loaded. A single and it's 9-7. New Pitcher! A fly out and the runner is tagging up at third. A fantastic throw and we get him at home plate. 2 on 2 out. A groundball and the inning is over.

So it's 9-7 and a quick fly out and we're down to our last two outs and in a big hole.

Oscar Ramirez gets a valuable full count walk.

Sergio Palafax follows it up with a single and we have two on with one out.

A wild pitch moves the runners up, can we find a big hit to bring them home?

Next batter 2-2 a deep fly ball and we have a sac fly as Ramirez comes home from third and it's 9-8.

Two out and man on second.

Ramon Valdez is up next and hits a line drive single. Up pops the box, the ball is shallow and the fielder has a normal arm.

Do I?, Don't I?

I do and Palafax charges home and is deemed safe! BUT is injured and has to be removed from the game.

It's all tied up at 9-9 2 outs , 1 on.

Jose Munoz comes to the plate having already racked up 4 walks and an out.

0-1 pitch and it is GONE!!!!

Munoz wins the game with a 2 run walk off home run!

What a fantastic game this is

This is from way back in OOTP13, but it's my go-to example of a weird box score, because the final of 20-5 (10) is patently hilarious. Also note the 6 walks in the inning and the fact that the top of the 10th ended with a pickoff attempt.

I posted this in an obscure thread some time ago. I'll see if I can get a better screenshot.

See the box score below. This was the 1st game of the NLCS. I hope the rest of the series lives up to this game

The cumulative pitching line for each team during the "no-hitters".

Colorado; 9.2 inn 0h 0BB 0E 16K

St. Louis; 9.2 inn 0h 1BB 2E 9K

It was risky to leave two of my shut down MR out there for 3 and 4 innings each. There could be a price to pay later.
Edit:

Found the original league (v11) and got a better screenshot. I went on to win the NLCS but lost the WS in 7 games despite coming back from a 0-3 deficit.

This league is now up to 2075 and just imported to v16.

Astros score 40 runs in a game. Yeah, it's 99 Coors, but still pretty amazing.

Game Seven of the inaugural Liberty Series was pretty bizarre/memorable given that I'm still in the deadball era

The game was notable for several reasons. First it was the playoff tie breaker in the NL and the winner would go on to the World Series. The White Stockings finished strong winning 11 of their last 14 games while the Red Stockings had completely collapsed dropping 7 of their last 10. The Red Stockings had lost on each of the last two days so a loss here would complete a historic collapse with three losses in three days.

And then they played the game. The White Stockings were down to their final out in the 9th when Deacon White doubled home the tying run from first. The Red Stockings hung two runs on them in the 10th, but the White Stockings came right back with two of their own to force more innings. In the 11th the White Stockings had runners on first and second with no outs but nearly grounded into a triple play.

It all ended in the twelfth inning with a collision at the plate. Red Stockings pitcher Rick Wise dropped the ball following a collision at home with White Stockings 1B Gordy Coleman to send the White Stockings to the World Series.

WOW! I've never seen a game with a team that scored 40 runs, that's crazy.

How about a 24-inning game where a 5-5 tie after seven was followed by no runs by either team until the top of the 24th when Bury scored two, but Coventry City plated three to win 8-7? Is that crazy enough for you?

As someone who regularly goes to Pupfish games.... this box score is wildly inaccurate.

There is no way they would make it through a game with only 3 errors.

So I am playing an early August interleague game vs the Gotham City batmen. They are tey to be the great team they will be ina few seasons. However they still have Bruce Wayne in CF, Dick Grayson, whom we faced today and Jack Napier, along with Closer Oswald Cobblepot ( the Mariano Rivera of the EBL).

My 14 game winner Norm Maclean struggled today vs the Batmen giving up 6 Hits & 5 ER in 5.2 IP, so i bring in my long man, former starter Dom DeBoer who at 37 isn;t gonna wow anyone anymore, and he struggled giving up 4 Hits & 2 ER in 1.1 IP.

By the time the Bottom of the 7th rolled around I figured it was over and time to see what some younger guys could do.We were losing 7-2. Stacy Spear reaches on a single, she has great speed. Calvin Kline come up with one out and gets a single, my 3B Coach J.T. Thompson sends Spear from 1st to home and she is safe. 7-3. Deacon Peabody reaches on a single and J.T. tries the LF again with Kline this time to get thrown out at home. Pearl, My 3B grounds out to end the inning.
I bring in Leftiy specialist Alonzo Gonzalez to pitch the 8th and he mows them down like Bane.

Bottom of the 8th Gotham City MGR John Wayne, Sr. pulls Dick Grayson and puts in Peter Schreck. Brian Mack my DH strikes out looking. C Scott Spear singles, I put in PR Roberto Cortez. Rf T. J. Burke doubles Cortez moves to 3rd. I PH Benji Packer for SS Stacy Spear, Wayne counters with LHP John Kuhn, Packer is hitting .146 vs LHP this season. Packer singles, Cortez scores, Burke moves to 3rd. I PH my 3B who sits vs LHP for my rookie CF Logan Vick who is only up because of injuries. Juan knocks it out of the park for a 2 run HR to tie the game at 7. LF Calvin Kline flies out.

Alonzo Gonzalez mows them down in the top of the 9th. Bottom of the 9th is uneventful as well.
We go into extra innings and last time i checked we are perfect 8-0 in extras. Gonzalez, or A-Go, if I had to choose a nickname, gives up a solo shot to LHB DH Max Muncy. We go into the Bottom of the 10th down 8-7 with The Penguin coming in.

The Penguin who at just 5'5 is still a menacing LHP, his glare that he gives a batter from the mound could scare any man into grounding out and giving up and thats what happened to my 2 LHB leading off the inning in 1B Bill Wyatt and SS Benji Packer.Juan who can also Catch hits a Single, LF Kline draws a BB, 2B Deacon Peabody singles Juan scores from 2B. 3B Pearl grounds into a fielders choice to end the inning but we are tied once again at 8.

The 11th,12th,13th & 14th inngings were uneventful other then the fact that Cobblepot threw like 60 pitches and i was getting ready to use my #5 SP who was due to pitch in 2 days. My CL with his 0.55 ERA entering the game was masterful for 3 innings.

Going into the Bottom of the 15th Kline flies out.Peabody grounds out 4-3, Pearl who is 1 for 6 doubles, DH Brian Mack who is 0 for 5 doubles for the walk off win.
Yes we are a great team that should have won, but Gotham City with their young talent and their never surrender attitude taught by their manager The Duke, we really thought we would lose and we came back. Why, because we are the World Champion Ford Thunderbirds!
1st 15 inning game in 16.

How in the blue hell do you go up 15-2 after three innings and still lose the damn game???

By going 6 innings with one hit, while the opposition scores to rally and win 16-15.
