Actually to get it to work, here is what I did:

Download and extract the files to

C:\Users\[NAME]\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 16\photos

I like to extract them to their own folder on the desktop then I do "select all" and copy and paste all the photos to the "photos" folder.

Then while your in game make sure to go to Settings → 3D & FaceGen and then under "Picture search mode" select "Search for photos first"

Edit: I found a more indepth explanation from Bigrod's 2014 thread

Start ootp and click settings. When the popup opens, click the facegen tab and set the picture search mode to search for photo first. Goto your saved game's news\html\images\person_pictures folder and delete everything (don't need to delete if your starting a new game).
Restart ootp and the real player photos should show.

Thanks St Louis & Big Rod....but no dice...started a new test game following these directions.....maybe it won't work because they are in the individual team folders?? Have had this issue with previous versions when auto-loading pictures.......but when they photos were all "loose" in the photo folder, it would auto load........maybe it's a Mac thing?? I guess I'll manually add each photo....

Not a mac thing...ootp won't look in any other folder than photos unless you set a path to it. So you need to manually copy them to ootp's photos folder.
I kept them in separate folders because I automated the collection, naming and resizing process and there could be errors in the names. I didn't have time to go through the 6,000 + photos and check for those. It will also help me should I update them as everything will go where it should. It saves a ton of time.

OK....I see thanks....I ilked the idea of keeping the photos in the team files as that's I had sorted them out in an earlier version.......I understand now that they have to come out of their individual team folders to work...thanks....I'll get to it right now....thanks for all your work putting this together....and for your response....

Is there any fix for zooming out on the player profile page? I've already tried setting it to Further out, then restarting, but that doesn't work.

No, no zoom for real pics..and there's nothing I can do to change that. Zoom only works for facegens.
The only thing you can do is resize them to 90x135.
Better yet, get the png pics..the ones your using are jpg. Most of the png pics are not so zoomed..except the one's I had to get from a diff. source because the usual source hasn't updated most of the player's that appear on new teams.
Bottom line, it was a tradoff of having a player with the wrong uni or a headshot jpg pic with the correct uni..

Potential Help

I'm on a Mac, and what helped me was selecting the main folder, let's say "Teams", then typing ".jpg" without the quotes into the search bar in the top right. Then make sure the bar that appears right underneath says Search: "Teams" rather than "This Mac". Then just select all the photos and drag them into the "photos" folder as listed earlier

I haven't done it on a Windows machine, but I'm sure there's an easy way to do it too.

Okay, big question. Do I need to create that folder in my documents to have the photos appear in game.

Currently, there is no such Out of the Park baseball folder in my documents. I went into the main game folder and there is a supposed directory where the readme says to put the photos, but it is a .tar archive and I don't have a program to add things to that kind of archive.

Is my game messed up. Is this the folder structure for OOTP Baseball 16?

Did you install the game to the default (C: ) drive or a different drive?

Try this..search your computer for photos. That should find your photos folder. The pics go in there. Just extract the file to that.

Hey All---

I'm running OOTP 16 on my Mac and, for the life of me, cannot locate the folders to save the photo files in. (actually, i can't locate any OOTP 16 folders.) i know they must exist, but i can't access them. How is that even possible? i installed the game in my Mac's default drive. If i need to create a folder of OOTP photos, then how to I direct OOTP to that folder when in the game? Any help would be greatly appreciated. love the game, hatin' on the folder right now...

Not a mac owner, but on the forums there's instructions on how to unlock/unhide your photo's folder. Sorry, I can't remember the steps.
Try your Finder key or Library..something like that.

Okay, I think I found the folder...all the folders are buried in USER/Appdata/Virtual Store/OOTP Baseball 16/.... Is this how your file setup is? Seems like every year games become more and more decentralized in Windows file system!

I am still unable to see the photos that I believe I have downloaded into the Photos folder. I have downloaded the MLB High Res Photos folder file. When I right click on the file I get a series of options none saying to extract. With that being the case I right click and click on Send to Compressed Zip folder. It shows it compressing for about 10 seconds. I then right click on the zipped folder, click on Extract All and appear to extract the pictures into the photo folder. I then restart the game and after making sure that under "Picture search mode" I have selected "Search for photos first" I click on Continue Game. I then click on a couple of different players and nothing -- no photos.

I'm sure I'm doing or not doing something that is causing me to not be able to see the photos. Any assistance to get me straightened out after a couple of hours of trying to get this working properly myself would be greatly appreciated.
