It would be cool to have a World Baseball Classic and World Baseball Classic Qualification preset or a country based option in OOTP

This has been suggested before, and will be suggested again. The World Baseball Classic is the new mass select.

It's been the last or next to last feature cut during beta each of the last three years. It's going to happen at some point, though I couldn't say just when.

Out of curiousity,can you share anything about why it's always been cut?

It would require a re-write of the entire db structure. Very complicated and time-consuming stuff, from what I understand.

Well I too hope this gets added someday,but for now things still keep getting better and better feature wise.

well now that there is all those Euros laying around - thanks to the MLB license - they can hire someone to do that

I put together my own World Cup tournament "by hand" once I have enough foreign leagues (in the early 1950s) to support an 8-team field. It's a lot of fun selecting the rosters and playing the games, but a pain moving everyone back and forth one by one. I'm really looking forward to the day that support for it gets added in and makes it a whole lot easier.

I'm guessing that one of the big obstacles is allowing a player who's under contract to Team A to also briefly play for Team B? If that gets overcome, does it also open the door for things like sending players to AFL teams or winter ball?

increased sales

hopefully it results in increased sales. Im sure that was the plan anyways
