I can post these in gold (or any color) as well if you need, but here they are with transparent backgrounds.

Knuckler, do you think you could make the logos for this league?

Tx, could you do the jerseys?

Sorry, but you can count me out...
I try and stay away from these large requests as much as I can... They just take up way to much time to complete these... Suggest you look through Knuckler's and my Photobucket albums and use some of the thousands of the ones that are already made...
Try the cities and nickname sets or just good ole searching through the threads to see if they have already been done...
Good luck with your league...

knuckler, sorry... this is the best I could do to find nicknames that relate well with the New England League cities.

New Haven Greens (center of the town is called the New Haven Green... it is the original 16 square blocks set up by the Dutch)

Portland Fireballs
Portland Firebirds
... town was burned down four times... the city emblem is "a phoenix, rising from the ashes".
Portland Pyros

Norwich Mohegans... bought land from Uncas of the Mohegan Indians to start the town... apparently "Mohegan" is the correct way to spell the tribe's name... in error, James Fenimore Cooper called them "Mohican" in his classic book.
Norwich Wolves... "Mohegan" means "wolf" in their language.
Norwich Revolutionaries... strong supporters of the American Colonies in the Revolutionary War... even though it's the birthplace of Benedict Arnold.
Norwich Rebels... rebelled against England.
Norwich Roses... town is known as "the Rose of New England".

Knuck,

If you don't mind posting them in gold too I'd certainly be grateful.

Wow, when life gets busy and I can't be around the forum much, I miss a lot!

It's great to see so much interest in the New England League setup. I haven't had the time to do the research that a few of you have done, so any suggestions I make are much more "off the cuff," so to speak. My dad's family is originally from Connecticut, my wife went to college in Massachusetts, and our family travels up that way fairly often.

A few years ago, I put together a league in New England and eastern Canada. Here are a few of the teams I included:

New Bedford Whalers
New Haven Blues (from Yale's colors), but I also like Eugene's New Haven Greens a lot.
Portland Pilots
Bangor Bears
Bridgeport Orators (from "Orator Jim" O'Rourke, a Bridgeport native)
Manchester Minutemen
Montpelier Capitals (capital of Vermont)

I was big into alliterative names then; hence, the Pilots, Minutemen, and Bears.

I had the Pittsfield Mohawks in another of my leagues. Knuck and Tex did logos and uniforms for them, too. They have a definite "retro" feel, since the league was set in the 1930s. I had Danbury in my league, too, but I like Danbury Hatters better than the nickame I used. There's a logo/uniform set on the forum for Hatters, which was made last September.

The other teams that were done last fall were:
Bridgeport Jumbos and Orators
Hartford Oaks and Chiefs
Auburn-Lewiston (Androscoggin) Anglers
Manchester Minutemen
Montpelier Capitals
Worcester Hearts
New Haven Knights and Navigators (lots of possibilities for New Haven)
Springfield Rifles
Augusta Kennebecs and Guides

I put teams on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard in one of my leagues, too. I called the Nantucket club the Navigators, with navy and gold as their colors. Martha's Vineyard were the Tourists.

And, simply because a logo and uniform might have been done for a particular team, that doesn't mean we have to use that one. As long as our designers don't mind making new ones, that is.

Thanks to both of you for posting all of these great suggestions. I appreciate you taking the time to do research and posting them for me. I'm still deciding the best route to take with this league, but I am definitely going to finish it up (big thanks to you, Big Six, for the friendly push).
