Namesets

Have our nameset mods (Russian, Dutch, Italian and then some) been applied to OOTP 16? It doesn't look like they had been in OOTP 15.

Would anyone who's posted a name set in this thread or who has a nameset that you've worked on but haven't yet posted, and who wants to see it in the official game please upload the file to this thread as a properly named OOTP compatible nameset .txt file. rather than just posting it as code here?

If you do so I'll check it out and then send it to Markus for inclusion in the official game if it looks good.

Maybe I was the one to blame and I missed it... I'll ask him.

I didn't have a chance to test newer patches of OOTP 15. Maybe namesets were added there?

We had some issues with implementing them as some of the sets had characters that made things go wonky. The Italian set maybe, I forget.

Had to pull them out of the game and the plan was to put them back in for a later build, but both Markus and I forgot

At least add the Russian nameset so anybody can play without this nameset atrocity.

I've probably said so before, but you have permission to use anything I post on this board unless I specifically say otherwise.

Essentially this currently amounts to an English name set, a schools.txt file with English and Scottish colleges and some partly finished world_default mods...

I don't think I included your English nameset in the file I sent Markus. I'll check.

I think we should definitely include the Cuban nameset too, since when you create a fictional player from Cuba they are not normally named Juan, Jose, Miguel, or Luis....I want to see all those Y names in there for starters. ;-P

I really want to do that. It's a glaring omission.

I don't know if we can do that without creating another slot for names, which I'm guessing won't be possible at this point.

I asked Markus about it anyway, so we'll see.

While it may not be a priority, it would be nice to include the French Canadian nameset too. You could even substitute the French names with the French Canadian ones, imho. My Canadian Baseball League is so much better since I've imported Joefromchicago's French Canadian nameset.

I'll try to gather up the other namesets I've missed and send them to Markus at some point before release.

If they aren't in at release, someone can feel free to remind me. I have too many irons in the fire right now
