I got a refund because they had no solution. I never got an understandable explanation why if I was near Atlanta and they were away to St. Louis I was blacked out on both streams.
No I've never blacked out on a game that I've wanted to watch. When I was living in Texas, I also never got my pirates games blacked out

I haven't watched a real-life baseball game for probably 10 years, and haven't watched with any regularity for probably 20 or 25. If memory serves I was a bit of a St. Louis Cardinals fan as a boy/teenager (originally from Missouri). So I know next to nothing about Major League baseball in 2015. However, this game has reminded me of what a pleasant thing is to watch and to follow, so I'm thinking about 'getting into' watching baseball this season.

So here are my constraints:

1. No cable TV and no intent to ever have it.
2. Not sure which team I should follow, but would lean toward Cardinals or Braves (where I live now).
3. Seems like it could be fun to somehow follow a team and play their season out in OOTP15 and see how the end results differ.

So any suggestions from the baseball fans? In particular, anyone know what my options would be to watch games this year using just internet?

If MLB does NOT stream their games and offer fairly cheap subscriptions to watch them online, live (and/or even cheaper for day old games), they need to hire a marketing President who has a brain in his head!

For that matter, depending on the rights with the various distributors who have aired games over the years, MLB would be fools if they didn't have a "pay for" historical game library, sort of along the lines of Netflix. Heck they could even contract the distribution out TO Netflix . . .

So let me guess, MLB has no such forms of distribution? Or they don't even bother with broadcasting?
Don't ever cheer for the Cubs. Go with the Cardinals, they have a richer history then the Braves do.

Apart from the US, US dependencies and (parts of?) Canada, the rest of the world can enjoy MLB.tv without blackouts (thank heavens). That's about the only advantage living in Germany offers.

Now Youtube and such is a different story

MLB.tv is the best $110 I spend all year, for the fourth year now. I might upgrade to Premium this year though, because some announcers are truly unbearable and you only get the home team broadcast with the Standard package. As a Mets guy, and getting mostly exposed to NL East games, the list of unbearable announcers reads about this:

1. F.P. Santangelo
2. F.P. Santangelo
3. Hell, F.P. Santangelo! It's okay to be in favor of the guys that fill your fridge, but you can certainly be a bit less obnoxious about it!

premium is worth it. I like to listen to the pirates announcers. I also find it interesting to listen to both broadcasts when there's a significant call or moment. It's cool to be able to listen to both sides.

Minor league baseball is usually the best value. If you are not within a reasonable distance of 1 of the 30 major markets, there's a good chance you're within a reasonable distance of 1 of their 200 +/- minor league affiliates. Not sure where you are exactly; but where I am, it's a 90 minute drive, and hellified traffic to get to a Tigers game ($15 parking/$25 ticket). It's 30 minutes and almost no traffic to get to a Lugnuts game ($4 parking/$10 ticket). Doesn't mean I'm gonna start rooting for the Blue Jays, but I still enjoy seeing what's coming up the pike. When I was in Florida, I could have spent $25 on Rays tickets; but the Sarasota Reds had $1 admission, hot dog, and Pepsi on Wednesday nights (free parking)
