Hello all.I was wondering if anybody had any good photos of Eddie Robinson when he played for the Yankees? I have seen only a few but nothing that is what I'm looking for yet. Thanks for all help.

Yes, it's been a terrible year for Chicagoans with Ernie's passing in January and now Minnie's passing today. (The first black Cub and first black White Sox players passing away within about five weeks of one another).


Like Ron Santo, maybe Minnie's HOF campaign will gain traction posthumously. It's still a shame that he wasn't elected in his lifetime.

Eddie Robinson is still around at age 94. He is the second oldest living Yankee, with only Rugger Ardizoia, who pitched one game for the Yanks in 1947, being older.
Robinson suffered a serious wound on the Pacific Front during World War Two, (Japanese Artillery shrapnel) that required a long period of convalescence and it's a miracle that he was able to recuperate and have a baseball career at all.
Between 1949 and 1953 he made 4 out of 5 American League all-star teams.
His career actually began to decline when the Yankees acquired him in 1954, with Casey Stengel's penchant for platooning players, resulting in Robinson losing playing time.
Altogether Robinson has 13 MLB seasons: cups of coffee in the big leagues in 1942 and 1946 and then 11 full seasons (1947-1957).
He hit a career high of 29 HR (1951) and hit over 20 HR four years in a row. In three of those years he also topped 100 RBI.

I found the TV EBay site in 2006 or 2007. At first I only downloaded and cropped pictures that I needed. At some point I started keeping more. I have lots of old TV pics saved and many are before they started watermarking them. I have probably posted a lot of them in this thread or others on this site. I really can't remember.

I would like to zip them into a file and make it downloadable for anyone but over the last few years I did not keep up with sites that allow large files to be uploaded to be downloaded for free. I would gladly upload them and place a link here if someone would guide me to a site.

I've started using Google Drive for all my file sharing. There's a bit of a learning curve but after that it's reliable and easy to use. Their free version offers 15GB of storage which should be enough to at least get you started.
