Looking for best historical mods
I'm wanting to start a historical MLB league in 1901 and continuing on. What would be the best mods and DBs to use?
I'm looking for jerseys, caps, logos, facegens, and whatever else would help make the league as complete as possible. Also, what settings or DBs does everyone use to get the best historical results? |

Download the historical Facegen and uniform/logo packs from the download center in OOTP. You will see them and it is easy to follow the instructions download and install (essentially pushing buttons).
The game uses the Lahman data base to import players, and I'm not aware of any useful alternatives. As to 'best' historical results, that depends on what you mean by best. Opinions vary widely as to what folks want to happen. For example, if by best you mean, "every player is used exactly the amount of ABs/innings pitched as in real life" then you are going to be disappointed. There are no settings for that. You can choose to have people show up with there original teams at approximately the year they debuted, or you can have an amateur draft so you can have Willie Mays on your favorite team. There are settings for all that and you'd need to decide what you want and then check the Historical threads so see what you need. Hope that helps, your question has lengthy answers, so you'll need to do research. Or better, simply click on the Historical start and see what happens. You'll learn and enjoy if you do.

Gambos uniform packs are great. It is already set up to auto load caps and jerseys.
There is also a stadium mod which allows the import of stadia from 1901 onward. Although I think this is not one percent accurate. I think it uses the capacity data for the latest incarnation of the stadium. So you will find sportsman's park has the size and dimensions as it had when closed not in say 1902 or 1903 whichever one it is when the St. Louis Browns moved to St. Louis. |
