All in all, how did the international leagues work out in the MLB quickstart in 15?

...and are they improved for OOTP 16?

I didn't really use this feature in OOTP15 but plan to this year.

I'd like to play an MLB quickstart with also having the Japanese (and possibly one or two more) league a part of my game universe as well.

A few questions to those who used the feature last year:

- Did it work as expected?

- Were there unrealistic player signings? I don't want to see top MLB stars signing multi-year contracts in Japan. I'm hoping it's role-players who were left unsigned in free agency.

- Does the AI regard the Majors as the TOP league? This would hopefully keep the star players from signing in those leagues.

- Did the posting system work as intended?

I'm just wondering if it would be worth it by having those leagues "alive" in my universes, or if I should just stick with MLB + minors.

Thanks!

1. Yes

2. A little. Guys a bit better than would really sign for the *** or KBO will go there but not top stars. Maybe Stephen Drew or Joel Hanrahan types.

3. Yes, the ai regards MLB as the top league. No issues there.

4. Mixed reviews on that. Mostly it works great. I've heard some people say that they rarely get anyone posted though. Not sure if that's a settings issue or what.

The major issue with *** integration was contracts. *** stats are treated like ML stats for contract negotiation reasons, which leads to inflated salaries.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't *** listed as a 'Major League' in the game instead of 'International'? Not sure if that would help the contract issue.

Nevermind....I looked and it is listed as International league....I must have gotten confused with OOTP14

Yes.

There were unrealistic signings, but never involving top players. It was usually role players who were still good enough for the MLB. *** usually kept their top players, even the Ohtanis and Fujinamis. Also, you'll get some comeback stories from fringe and AAA players coming to Japan then making it back the MLB, which is great.

I've never seen a posted player.

I never ran into any contract issues with any international leagues.

Only problem I had was getting players posted.

I've gotten a handful of posted players for 4 straight seasons now, works fine for me.

What year are you in? I just started 2017 and haven't had a single player posted yet.

Started in 2009 to build some history, players were posted from Japan around 10/21 every season so far.

Experiences seem to differ widely. I'm one of those who hardly ever sees a posted player in OOTP 15. As best I can recall, there have been two in 20-some seasons with international leagues.

Does anyone have at hand information on how many players are posted in real life?

All in all, how did the international leagues work out in the MLB quickstart ...

The only time I've started to see posted players was when I changed the pcm for japan to mirror mlb (for testing) which was unrealistic.

Thanks guys.

So if I add the *** to my universe, it shouldn't become a rival league to the MLB?

Just the odd middle to low end free agent signing short term deals there?

Also, I like how in November (I believe) a group of international players from different countries will become available to sign. Usually about 10 or so. The feature was added in OOTP14.

Will this still happen even if I enable the ***?

Yes, but don't get your hopes up, they're mostly useless.
