The only major area ootp needs to improve

OOTP is far and away the best baseball sim on the market. I am sure there are a number of areas that players would like to see improved but those areas are fine tuned improvements rather than major problems. As editions are released many areas of the game have been fine tuned which has made the game better with each edition.

But there is one area of the game which really needs to be improved. That would be the visual aspect of playing an actual game. I am primarily an online player but I do like to play 1 solo league and also like to actually play out the game but because of the lack of graphics in the game it isn't as much fun as it should be.

I have copies of pc action baseball and baseball mogul on my computer. Both games are flawed (BM deeply flawed) but both are more fun to play solo than ootp because they both have adequate game graphics. The problem tho is that when you are playing a flawed game it just hard to get immersed in the game.

It seems to me that since ootp is light years ahead of those games that it should be a simple matter of installing graphic improvements to in game play. I am not advocating a madden style arcade game in any way all I want to see is pitch followed by ball flight and runner advancement in hopefully actual well laid ballparks.

Enjoying solo play as much as online play would really be as good as it gets.

I never was able to grasp but graphics can do in terms of fun.

I am glad this game does away with the graphic oodles of other products.

"oodles of graphics" forget that concept. I am just asking for very minimal graphics so that u can see a play unfold. This does not involve seeing actual bodies moving around on the screen as in an arcade style game in any way.

Actually I am pretty confident that the minimal graphics that I would like to see will show up in 2015

I agree with this, and think the development team knows this. that's why they are developing the 3D model. I wish they had gone for 2D first as it looks like it might be another year or so before 3D is totally usable. but the fact they are moving in this direction is great and will add lots of immersion to the in-game aspect, just like Football Manager did.
