I'm hoping for news articles that alert you and say "So and So has just moved into 4th place all time in hits", or homeruns, or whatever!! I've been wishing for this feature for years!!! To me that would add a great deal more immersion!

One thing though, we won't have the WBC. The play mode for the next WBC (2017) is not decided yet, and we felt it makes not much sense to spend work (which would have been a lot) to get something which resembles the 2013 WBC. So, this feature will likely be a part of OOTP 17 or 18.

Not that historical international leagues are a sane idea...

Someone just needs to make and send Markus or haveband or myself a Lahman db of a given league and I'd bet we can probably include it in the game.

Not holding my breath in hopes that will happen, because it's a lot of work to make up the db and someone would have to be pretty determined.

Prediction for big announcement:

OOTP has teamed up with the MLB to provide official teams and rosters, along with other features related to the MLB brand, to the series.

Other features:
Improvements to the financial aspect of the game. It seems that this is where OOTP has remained somewhat constant, at least in terms of appearance.

Improvements to the 3D engine ... perhaps a decision to move towards a more "2D" engine.

Improved storylines and newspaper ... playoff races tracked, along with upcoming milestones for individual players.

[I'll try to think of more predictions in the meantime].

Excellent guess. I have a feeling you might be on to something with Official Licensing. Although it's not a major feature for me, it's no doubt a major feature for the game and growth of the product.

I can't wait until the year custom tournaments are added. Then i could rebuild country prestige in a way...that will be alot of fun when that day comes.

Yeah, that was the issue I figured. I also wonder how complete the info for leagues like the Italian League is going back more than a few seasons.
