Pythagorean record
My Dead Ball era team has a -26 pythagorean record over 10 years, from 1905-1914. Only twice during the time was I in the positive.
I really don't know what I should do to improve. I reduce stolen bases to basically nothing since the stolen base success rate is so bad for basically every player in this era. I'm about average with baserunning, sacrifice bunts, hit and runs and run and hits. I've decreased pitch around, intentional walks, guard lines and play infield in during the early innings and increased them above average in the late innings. Also in the later innings, I increase pinch hitters and runners, hook starting pitchers and relievers and favor L-R matchup. My actual record has varied from 75 to 87 wins. It's been above .500 eight of the ten seasons. A few extra wins by playing to the record I "should" have would help a lot. Thoughts? |

Thats less than 3 (2.6) under averaged out over only 10 seasons, just 1 or at most 2 'unlucky' seasons while being close to 0 or positive for most of the rest could be the reason.
i.e. 4 seasons of 0 , 4 of -2 and just 2 at -9 gets ya -26, its just some bad luck with a small sample size OR you need to draft more 'clutch' players ![]()
