Outfield Logjam
I'm playing with the St. Louis Cardinals, and I'm currently in the 2015-2016 offseason. I'm fresh off a WS victory after posting a 95-67 record in '15. I have two serious issues going into the offseason: money and a glut of quality outfielders.
Here's what I have (Perfect scouting, btw): LF Matt Holliday (1*/1*) .349/.404/.549 in 284 ABs, making 17m LF Randal Grichuk (1.5*/3.5*) .287/.321/.588 in 80 ABs, minimum CF Charlie Tilson (4*/4.5*) stud rookie, hit .300 in AAA CF Peter Bourjos (2*/2*) .256/.338/.430 in 121 ABs, making 4m CF Oscar Taveras (5*/5*) .287/.351/.405 in 593 ABs, making min RF Stephen Piscotty (4*/4*) .252/.305/.412 in 461 ABs, making min RF Brent Keys (1*/1*) LH pinch-hitter, hit .256 last year, making min How should I approach this? I have 6 OFers that could legitimately start for me. I'm not opposed to platooning, but Taveras and Tilson are the only lefties and I want OT to get everyday reps. In an ideal situation, I'd like to ship Holliday out, but no one will take his massive contract. I only have about 2.3m to sign FA so money is obviously very tight here in St. Louis. Any suggestions? |

I'd try to trade Holliday.
Since it's the NL you could probably keep 6 if you give one or two of them some reps at first base in spring training and are comfortable with just one utility infielder on the bench. |
