In League Settings for that league.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Switch to the league you want to set the limit. Select league settings, click on rules. The option to set the roster limit for that league is on that page. After you set a limit, keep an eye on the AI controlled teams, I have seen others complain of the AI releasing or not protecting good prospects in Rule 5 trying to deal with this limitation.

This may have changed but it has long been advsed to not let your lowest minor level be set below 35 players. It used to and may still cause even weirder AI promotion/demotion decisions than you see by defualt. What was the name of thread with the fictional player who got demoted and promoted almost daily? Wasn't Curtis something? Funny stuff.

It's best to set OOTP minor league roster limits one or two higher than the actual limit. That simplifies moving players among levels and compensates for the fact that OOTP, unlike real life, counts rehabilitation assignments against the limit.

I've always used 40 at my lowest level and 30 at the others. Never had problems with AI roster moves, etc.

Your lowest level should never be less than 35.

Why do you keep having to bring up Curtis Borkholder? The rest of us just keep sending him back down.

The original question is why the forums are so helpful. I was also trying to figure out a way to limit rosters and the various answers provided the info I needed. Plus the reminder to keep your lowest minor league at at least 35 players.
