League Expansion Question

I'm playing out a fictional league using real players and random debut. I currently have 16 teams, 8 in each league, so it's set up where the 2 winners go straight to the Series. I'm ready for my league to expand, and I'd really like to add 4 teams and set up divisions so I can expand my playoffs as well. So my question: Is it feasible to add 4 teams at once or should I just add 2 and then expand again later? I didn't know what adding 4 teams at once would do to my league.

Thanks,
Joey

You can add as many of you want. The draft pool will adjust to it. And if you have minors it will add them too.

Depending on your expansion drafts ettings it could make the top teams a bit weaker for a few seasons. I have expanded my league by 4, 3 times From 8 to 12, 12 to 16, 16 to 20 and then had back to back seasons of 2 team expansions. Only noticeable talent drop off was the 1st expansion.

Thanks, guys!

The Game, you mentioned draft expansion settings, when you've expanded by 4 teams how many players seem to be a good number for the teams to protect?

I'd recommend teams protecting 18-20 players, with a maximum of 8 picks per team. That leads to a total of 32 expansion draft rounds.

My league is setup differently with a lot of custom players so I would go with what Burke said for your league.
