Promotion/Demotion History
As part of the player history log, I feel promotion and demotion dates should be included. Any thoughts?

They used to be tracked a number of versions ago - quite a while back.
There was a strong movement to have them removed because a players history page starts to over flow with lines of data pretty quick. The page still can get quite full, but I'm glad these are no longer part of it. If they were added back in, I would hope they would receive their own tab. They would still create a cluster on the "general" & "complete" history though. Last edited by Bluenoser; 12-20-2014 at 07:53 PM. |

Yes...another tab would be fine...or filters....but to me, as a GM this is an important part of player history in terms of "when" a player was at a particular level.

I don't worry about exact dates. A quick glance at his stats history tells me when he was at what level and how many games he played there. The # of games & ensuing results is more important to me then the actual dates he was there.
I don't see the significance of the exact dates - what exactly would be their importance? Last edited by Bluenoser; 12-20-2014 at 09:27 PM. |

progression....e.g. did they come up, then have to go back down only to be brought back up again?

Then what - how is that info important? This is unnecessary info that would only clutter up the player history screen. |

That has more to do with options being available than talent. We've had the same discussion regarding ST. Players with options left will be sent down first as teams don't want to risk losing other assets.

That's even less important. As Bluenoser said you can look at games played at each level if it really matters. Also consider that a player may be promoted and demoted due to promotion and/or injury and recovery and/or demotion of other players so there may be no development based reasons involved. For example a starting SS at AA may be promoted to be the backup to the backup SS in AAA now playing for the reasons described above.

I like it! I also feel like transactions should be split from general

I wouldn't really care much for minor league promotions/demotions but I would like to see promotions and demotions to and from the major league team in a player's history.
