Custom playoffs

A little off the wall but here it goes. I would like to have a playoff format where I can still have divisions but only the teams with the best records make the playoffs. I know I can do this by putting all the teams in one division, but that is boring to me. I like having various divisions, and I think it would be cool if say the first place team in a particular division didn't make the playoffs because they didn't have a strong enough record. I actually think it would kind of add to immersion.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for but I did custom playoffs and only the top 4 wild cards made the playoffs. Philly had the same record as OAK. Forgot if OOTP handles ties properly. PHI did have a 7-5 edge in the season series.
So maybe if you do a test league over several seasons with just wildcards, maybe the top team in one division will miss the playoffs, although it looks like the regular season standings may not reflect that.

Discovered that you could manually edit playoff matchups, so maybe say PHI was better then OAK but OAK who was not a division winner won the season series then they make the playoffs?

Thanks! I'm going to have to take a closer look at that.
