My game is currently frozen- a little help please

I went to save my game and it immediately seemed to freeze...never getting past the 0% on the initialize

Finally the Error box came up and it says

DATABASE::save_database-could not save database files

OOTP tries to roll back the transaction

It finally let me click OK and now it says

OOTP could not restore the database files! Your database is not saved yet and seems to be inconsistent. Please review the ootp.txt file, check the disk space and the league folder, then try again (it won't let me click OK right now)

Anyone else seen this? Any advice?

Is your hard drive space ok? Sounds like the league could have been corrupted, unfortunately.

my game just crashed on me too this has happened before but it sucks as this time Im 7 years into my game ( 7 years simmed) it says that i need to restore the 2014 game or my file was corrupted .this has happened i think in the past to me becuase i let my lap top run out of power and did not shut down the game it also says i have no back up. i close the game and save it every time. what else should i do to back up my game . I wont restart till the spring but i'm a little frustrated i had some really great seasons in there

It's a bad patch that OOTP made. There's lots of people with the same type of problems with this latest patch.

I had this happen to me once. with me it was a disk access issue, my computer was doing too many things at once and OOTP couldn't get the HD access it needed in a timely manner. I closed the other things I was doing and resaved and it worked fine.

That is not backing up your game because it uses the same files the next time you open it. For me I do my backups outside of the game by making copies of my .lg folder when the league isn't open. this way if there is an issue I can just restore that backup. You can also run a backup in-game but my preference is doing it outside the game.

Sorry. I couldn't control myself. But I sympathize with you. I had a promotion-relegation league crash on me. I'll backup more frequently in the future.

A week ago Friday my boss asked me to download back blaze...

Sunday my game would not turn on (Frozen) and I found out the next day my hard drive was fried

I was checking e-mail later and thought I was out of luck with OOTP and obviously everything else and I checked some e-mails I had missed...one was from back blaze telling me all my files were ok and were on the back blaze server...

Talk about a nice bit of luck and hat tip to the boss...I get my computer back this week and look forward to uploading everything back to the new hard drive

I just had to replace two HD's, but because I had full backups it was just time-consuming and not painful. I moved to Wesern Digital Blacks. Seagate drives are not what they used to be.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Do you have the league folder from the old save? (Sorry, I didn't read every post in this thread, I just skimmed through, so I may have missed that.)

If so, you can just put it in your saved games folder and you should be able to load it from there.
