Cool OOTP Superstitions

Does anyone else have a superstition when they play? I have one that is kinda odd I think. Whenever I sim a game, I try to click on the 'i' of sim. I try and make sure i am right on that 'i'. I have no idea how that started but I think I win more when I click on the 'i' compared to clicking elsewhere on the sim button. Am I crazy or does anyone else have any quirks when they play?

I give my starting pitchers a few words of encouragement before a start.. especially before a big game (playoff game, etc.) ..of course, I only do this when no one is around.

When I do my lineups I always turn it to RHP+DH first and then the rest.

There is a fine line between superstition and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I'm not certain which side of the line this falls on.

I do pep talks too. I almost always tell my pinch hitters not to strike out. They don't seem to listen much though. Sometimes I tell them not to GIDP but that NEVER works.

More in line with the OP, when I'm playing out a game, on offense I have to hit '1' at every prompt to continue, whereas when I am in the field I have to use the space bar.

Edited to fix idiotic spelling mistake

Columbus Crows management wear their Wichita Tumbleweeds baseball cap during the day of sims. Management believes that the FOBL commish (and 'Weeds GM) Simms will look favorably upon the gesture and will force the injury god to pass over the city of Columbus each sim without leaving its mark in the form of a CEI.

so far, so good...

I bang on the computer with a red plastic stick, while an organ grinder plays Gene Autry songs and a rally monkey dances.

It helps the Angels.

I ALWAYS hit N when you have to hit a button to continue

I have to spend an hour in the forums reading, before I play. Need to get my head focused on the game.

In my online league, we give play-by-play of playoff games in a chatroom. i started turning my mouse over late in the games when we were losing. i called it the Rally Mouse. Everytime i used it we would make a comeback and win. We won the championship that season.

I don't do it every game, or there would be no point. I usually do it on a day with a big game, so it doesn't help all to much, because usually it's against a good team. But I'll say stupid stuff like "C'mon Blah Blah, let's do this. You're better then Blah Blah2..I know that, you know that and he knows that. Now let's do this thing."

I was just playing a franchise where I'm "re-writing history" and I took a 3-0 lead in the WS on Pittsburgh, but they came back and won the next three and forced a game seven. I told Christy Mathewson, my starter, if he won this game, he could sleep with my wife. He proceeded to throw a 6-hit shutout.

I never hit a button when my wife is in the room because, frankly, she's bad luck. This has the added bonus of making me appear to be giving her my undivided attention when all I'm really doing is patiently waiting for her to leave me alone.
