Winning and losing streaks

I've only been playing since OOTP 13, but absurd streaks have been the norm. Latest season in OOTP 15, through August 23rd:

WWLLL
WL
WLL
WWLL
WL
WWWL
WWLL
WWL
WWWWWWWL
WWWL
WLL
WWL
WLLL
WWWWWLLL
WWLL
WWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLL (12 wins in a row followed by 6 losses?)
WWWWWWWWWWLLL (10 W followed by 3 L)
WL
WWWL
WL
WLLL
WL
WWL
WWL
WLLLL
WWWWW
L (4 L followed by 5 W)
WLLL

Honestly, I don't know how to complain about this. Maybe winning and losing steaks happen like this all the time (and is worth studying before I whine about it), and injuries and matchups play a large part. But whenever I dump my minor leagues to build what I think will be historically good teams, I keep running into these walls like the game is just realizing I won 12 in a row and has to keep me from running away with the division. Even my average/bad teams never seem to go on such losing streaks. It's only when the really good ones are up by 9-10 games in May/June that i start going on these absurd runs.

A rough count says you have 75? wins by Aug 23. Not sure what you find problematic with that. In one stretch you go 22-6 or 22-9 depending on how you look. What concerns you about the mini 6 game losing streak? Batters get cold the bullpen coughs up a furball then you win 10?

Not dismissing your concerns but we need way more context like a screen shot of the league standings to start.

I've noticed the extreme streak-iness too. Seems to happen much more often than it did in 14.

Hmm, how does one quantify whether winning and losing streaks are happening more often. What criteria are you using?

Personal experience. I'm probably one of the few people that play OOTP 14 and 15 at the same time. Using nearly the exact same templates and same teams I'll see more consistent play in 14 than I do in 15. The odd part is by the end of the season it pretty well comes out even between the two.

With the league that I have going in both 14 and 15. (I made it just to compare other aspects but found the streakiness after testing). In 14 I never had more of a win or loss streak more than 5. With the exact same team in the exact same league with all the exact same players in OOTP 15 I saw wins and loss streaks as many as 11. But by the end of the season my win loss total was only 2 off (between the two versions) and both nearly dead on matched season predictions.

Obviously their are way way to many variables to make me playing a couple test seasons any sort of valid statement as to this is whats happening but coming from a guy who's played the exact same templates in both 14 and 15. 15 is more streaky.

This makes sense.

This does not.

Yeah, really anecdotal, I admit. I'd have to load up my OOTP 14 franchise to see if it was different from one iteration to the next. It's just seemed like these streaks were the norm.

As far as streakiness in real life, I was surprised to see the Royals won 10 then lost 4 this year (though the last of the 4 were a sweep to the Mariners), or that Colorado lost 7 before winning 6.

Again, maybe it warrants further study. It just seemed abnormal at the time.
