Overperforming players

last couple weeks of the season, headed to the playoffs and I have a pitcher who only made the club out of desperation due to a number of injuries, pitching his heart out.

Jay Dahl

League reports

he really doesn't even have any business being a ML pitcher, what do you guys do come playoff time in cases like these?

I'll ad in that he seems to be aces if I sim his game, but seems to be terrible when I play him out.

Let it ride and hope, unless the regression has started. If he's still performing well come playoff time, you dance with what brought you.

Low BABIP plus high walk rate suggests to me its more of an outlier than indication of who he really is or what he may do next year.

As my friend said, just ride it as long as it lasts

Objectively, you'd think he has to implode in the high-pressure games. But he's thrown so well, how can you not start him come playoff time?

I would keep him in for the playoffs and then release/trade him when the season's over, since his potential rating shows he's already on the decline.

funny man, funny man

so I started him game 1

box score

to be fair it isn't a good matchup, the other team only has one left-handed batter on the roster.

them
