Fairly new to the game, looking to get down to "business"
Hey everyone!
So, OOTP 15 is my first experience with the series. I am hooked on this game, but I've only played with like one-day projects that I end up deleting because I find a new feature or can't decide on a way I want to play. So I have a few questions. First off, I cannot come to decide on a ratings system to use for when I play this game. I usually use a tighter scale to make it more difficult, but I can't decide which one. I have also tried stats-only, which I actually like and can handle, but it can make the game weird (for instance, managing players with no stats whenever you are playing a standard ML game), and I also cannot pinpoint what other "ratings settings" that provide a realistic experience. Second, how do you recommend making the game as fast as possible? Do you have a routine to clear unneeded files and such? Are there certain settings that aren't really needed that can help speed the game up? It isn't really a problem, just a curiosity. Third, feeder leagues are weird. Can I just use "set up default feeder league" and it works well? And how do I get it to ONLY use feeder players whilst still having enough for the draft? Do I need to calculate it? Lastly, do you have any ideas on how to "play" this game? I've done so many things so far, I just can't decide what to do, so I figured I'd listen to the OOTP "geniuses" and see how you guys go about managing your minors, and how you go about your daily "routine" in the game. I know I can find answers to some of these, but they all seem to be in bits and pieces when I search, and simply cannot find out what I need to find out. Thank you!

Hey, welcome. I would go with the 2-8 or 20-80 scale since thats what scouts use. It can help give you perspective when looking at real scouting reports.
You can increase sim times by selecting an option in the main settings. I forget what it's called but you don't want it to say leaderboard. To only have feeder players in your draft, go to the draft options, in the rules tab, and change it to feeder only.

My advice is to visit the dynasty forum. There are many examples of how to play the game successfully there. |
