Trading Difficulty: No in between

What the heck is wrong with the AIs trade difficulty. I can put it on average and then get 0 offers for a player like Mike Olt, should be at least SOME offers, then on easy the AI is offering me 3.5 stars and up players which is definitely overkill. Did something happen, because it was never this bad a couple of months ago.

Average is kinda easy. Mike Olt probably wasn't very good, maybe bad contract. Trust me, if you go average, its basically easy mode.

Nah, Olt was on a min. Contract, ratings around 50 contact, 60 power, 60 eye, hitting around .250 on the season.

I know what you're saying though when average used to be easy but it's not like that anymore, I don't know if it's an update, can't even get remotely close offers to what I used to get.

There was indeed an update, and average is now harder.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Another example of how ridiculous it is:

Trading for Daniel Murphy on average: lowest they will take is a 3 star player (Samardzija)

On easy: They'll take a 19 y/o half star reliever who has no rating that will ever get over 50.

Also, I do have 100% scouting accuracy on

People were complaining that Average was too easy and Hard was too hard, or at least a vast jump in difficulty between the two. In one of the recent patches, apparently the developer chose to make Average more difficult.

That's the bad news. The good news, to me at least, is that I can go back to Average without feeling guilty. I have not done so yet, but it is tough with trading on Hard.

Which leads me to this suggestion: Try trading with the setting on Hard for a while. You will then not mind the Average setting any longer, I think.

Stop using "Shop a Player." You'll need to initiate trades on your own by correctly divining other teams' needs and season philosophy (Rebuild/Win Now). Then you'll be able to get good trade value.

The update made it so it's harder to just shop a player, which is realistic to me; if you're shopping a player that hard, then it's obvious that you want him gone post-haste and the other teams are in the catbird's seat because you're desperate.

If you want to run a fun experiment, take a league-average infielder and shop him on each of the trade difficulty settings (don't actually trade him for anyone) in turn and see what different offers for him you get each setting. It will give you a really interesting view of what the trade settings look like in practice.
