Quick question...I'm up to 1937 in my historical replay and I think we are using the same logo pack. But where did you find the uniforms you're using. Much better than mine and I looked but couldn't find them.

1954 Regular Season
So, I just discovered an interesting name. 34 year old, first baseman, with the Montreal Royals, named Crash Davis! I didn’t know there was a real life Crash Davis. He’s a career minor leaguer, who in my game, played just 24 games with the Dodgers in 1943. I had no idea there was a real life inspiration for Crash Davis. That’s pretty cool. ![]() Not Kevin Costner Bob Feller just won his 300th career game. He’s a sure fire Hall of Famer. At the all-star break he has 5592 career strikeouts. Just 110 behind former teammate Satchel Paige. There’s a real chance Feller will set the new record this year. Feller is only 35, so there are a lot more K’s in his future. ![]() Feller At the All-star break, 39 year old Joe DiMaggio has announced that the 1954 season will be his last. DiMaggio has not played very much since becoming a member of the Cardinals. In his 4th season, he does not have 300 at bats…combined. He simply doesn’t have the legs to play defense anymore, and because of that, could not find a place in the lineup. DiMaggio in his prime, was easily one baseball’s best. A St. Louis Legend. ![]() DiMaggio and his new wife ![]() The 1st overall pick in the 1943 MLB draft, Duke Snider, has really struggled to get a foothold in the Cardinals lineup. He’s been used primarily as a backup. The 3 seasons he got decent playing time because of injuries, he hit 14, 14 and 22 home runs. I believe this guy can play. Now, at age 27, he’s finally going to get the chance. ![]() The Pirates take what I think is an excellent risk. Snider wanted out, and he got his way, finally. Entering September, it’s looking like the Dodgers have the inside track on another NL pennant. They lead the Pirates by 6.5 games. In the AL, the young and upcoming Tigers are trailing the Orioles by just half a game. The Detroit Tigers out played the Orioles, and earned their first Pennant in years. 19 years to be exact. Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle are going to the Series!! This also ends a run of 5 straight AL pennants by the Chicago White Sox, who also happen to be the defending champs. In the NL, the big Dodger lead is down to 2, with 3 games remaining. The team trailing the Dodgers happens to be their opponent. The Pittsburgh Pirates. Any suspense was quickly disposed of when Dodgers star Lou Brissie struck out 14 Pirates on route to a 8-1 win. The Dodgers will play the Tigers in the 1954 World Series. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Mays and Mantle are not stars just yet, but this could be their coming out party. The Tigers are just a good all around team, without any real weaknesses. They do nothing to great, but nothing bad. Minnie Minoso continues to lead the Dodger offense that isn’t very scary. The Tigers have the better team, but the Dodgers have the experience. |

![]() Brooklyn scores 6 runs in the eighth and ninth innings, as Lou Brissie improves to 7-1 in World Series play. Dodgers win the opener 7-2. With the score tied at 3 after five innings, the pitchers took over. No one scored a run for the next 7 innings. Then, in the 13th……a star is born….. ![]() Willie Mays becomes a Tigers hero, with a dramatic walk off home run to win game 2 of the World Series. A Mickey Mantle home run was not remotely enough as Robin Roberts pitched a complete game. Tigers starter Earnest Balser allowed 7 runs in 3 innings, as the Dodgers cruised to the 7-3 win and the series lead. Lou Brissie wins his 2nd start of the series, allowing just 5 hits and 2 runs as the Dodgers edge Detroit 3-2 to take a stranglehold on the series. Wes Westrum hit a 3rd inning grand slam, which opened the scoring in a through thrashing. The Dodgers win 9-0 and are World Champions again! ![]() ![]() |

1954-55 Offseason News and Notes
The Washington Senators just got a whole lot better. They selected Sandy Koufax 1st overall in the 1954 MLB draft. Brooks Robinson going 5th to the Phillies is a steal though. I would have considered him at #1. ![]() ![]() No Hall of fame inductees and a relatively uneventful offseason. The only thing really worth mentioning is the Athletics new home. ![]() |

1955 Regular Season
The Red Sox started the season with a 16-32 record, the worst team in baseball by 5 games. This puts them on pace for the top pick in the draft. They already have Don Drysdale, Frank Robinson and Willie McCovey. Adding another superstar level player may turn this team into the next dynasty. These guys just have to develop. I actually think we may have a Red Sox/Tigers War for the next decade! ![]() ![]() ![]() Robinson, Drysdale, and McCovey, the future of the Boston Red Sox Oh wow, I just checked on Bob Feller in his quest to become the all-time strikeout leader. He suffered an injury in August of last year. Bone chips in his elbow which ended his season. He’s come back this year just terrible. This injury has pretty much destroyed his ratings. He looks like a AA pitcher right now. He needs another 30 k’s to set the record. If he isn’t sent down, he should get there, but getting sent down to Miami is a distinct possibility. ![]() On June 29th, with 7 strikeouts in a loss to the Phillies, Bob Feller passed Satchel Paige on the all-time strikeout list with his 5703rd K. ![]() Strikeout king, Bob Feller. Just like in real life, Mickey Mantle has been battling injuries his whole career. The 23 year old still has is playing in his 5th full season. He’s been placed on the DL 8 times already. It’s looking like the Mick is destined to never be healthy. ![]() The Milwaukee Braves went on a huge run, winning 18 of 19 games during the end of August/beginning of September in order to make the NL pennant race close. They only made it close though, and were not able to overtake the Brooklyn Dodgers for the Pennant. In the AL, the city of Baltimore will get it’s first taste of post season action, as the Orioles lead from start to finish. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Ralph Kiner, IMO, has been the best player in baseball for the last 5 years. He’s getting a chance to lead his team to glory this year. Kiner missed out on both the White Sox and the Browns runs in the World Series, so this is brand new for him. The Dodgers pitching is fantastic. It’s hard to imagine that group of starters losing 4 out of 7 games. IF they don’t win this, it will be a massive collapse. |

![]() The Orioles start out right. They take advantage of a Dodgers error to score 3 times in the opening frame. The Dodgers storm back with a 3 spot of their own in the fifth, and star Gil Hodges put them infront for good, with a 2 run homer in the seventh. Dodgers win game one, 8-5. A first inning Minnie Minoso home run was the only damage the Dodgers were able to inflict on Orioles starter Ewell Blackwell. With the game tied in the Bottom of the ninth, Orioles slugger, Steve Bilko, ended the game with a walk off solo home run. Orioles win 2-1. Lou Brissie pitched a complete game, and knocked in the winning run, during a 3 run, fifth inning, as the Dodgers win game three, 3-2. Game 4 was over before it started. Gene Hermanski and Minnie Minoso both hit three run home runs, and the score was 11-0 after three innings. The Dodgers cruise to a game four victory. The Orioles pitchers again cannot avoid the big innings, as the Dodgers score 5 runs in the fourth, and 4 runs in the sixth. That was more then enough, as Brooklyn takes the game 9-6, and wins another World Series! ![]() |

1955-56 Offseason News and Notes
The prize of this seasons draft is Japanese pitcher, Kaz Inao. He's gonna be pretty good, pretty quickly. The Red Sox grab him. Drysdale and Inao at the top of a pitching staff is elite. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey man, still following along, still an amazing job.
Can you post a screenshot of Feller when you get a second, specifically his scouting report history. 4 years into his career in my league and he is not good...period. His ratings are like 18 stuff, 17 movement, but 3 control! He has led the league in strikeouts and walks every year, has over a 5.00 era and over a 2.00 whip every season and has a career record of 22 games below .500. I'm wondering if he imported wrong somehow and I need to edit him. Would like to see how he was rated from the draft in your league. Thanks |

I'm new to these boards and OOTP, but I have to tell you I'm not only addicted to the game, but to reading about your dynasty too. Keep 'em coming!

I also really enjoy your dynasty here. I hope the Yankees get some more success soon. They have been very inconsistent the last few years. They don't really finish in last place, but toward the bottom or over .500, yet in the middle of the pack.
The Tigers are going to be deadly the next few seasons and the White Sox will regret not winning many World Series in that last era. Also, the Phillies teams in the 30s were sick. Keep it coming -- this dynasty is great! |
