Pitchers out of high school?

What's the fastest you've ever seen a stud pitcher get drafted out of high school and dominate with normal modifiers? Have you ever called up a player directly from high school and he was solid in your rotation?

Not sure, a couple seasons maybe.

Although, weirdly, you gave me idea for a screw around league. I wonder how bad I can manage my top prospects. Like, as you said, throw them into the fire directly after signing them.

usually 2.5 years, start them in Rookie, move to short season in draft year. Next season if they had a little success I may start them in full season ball, with a potential mid-season promotion to AA. If the small sample size was strong in AA they usually get a spring training invite with the ability to capture a roster spot.

If you want to fast track pitchers, use them out of the pen initially, especially if they have 2 plus pitches. I'd had some great success with this, and they will develop well if you have them on the major league roster.

This development system is usually just for those rare HS talent pitchers though. I've actually fast tracked a couple stud college guys to my playoff rosters a couple times usually an abbreviated version of this system.
