does the trading block work?

My AI trade settings are hard, favors prospects. I place my entire team on the block to try to get offers. but, at the end of May.....not a single offer from any AI team. Meanwhile, the AI has made 10 trades on its own this month, so it is actively trading. My team is 10 games over .500, with a very low payroll, so it's not that my players are not attractive to trade for. I turn morale off so nobody freaks out about being on the block.

Any ideas? Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

I believe that function to be for online leagues.

Yes it works, and it's not necessarily aimed at Online leagues. Works for solo as well. AI doesn't seem to use it much but it does.

I personally use it to snatch players at the trade deadline for cheap.

If your team is good the AI will not make many offers. The algorithm appears to target weaknesses.

the trading block has been more of a 'make this trade and lose your job' block for me. the only players i ever see on there are guys in the twilight of their careers with bloated $25M+ contracts. most are hitting below the mendoza line and the pitchers usually have an ERA above 7 at the AAA level.

One thing thing that seems to be missing for me anyway is the ability to trade an above average player to a team fighting for a playoff spot in return for a good prospect...i.e. Samardjiza, Garza, etc for a top 5 spect. I have a decent #2 pitcher that is signed for $4M/year...I can't get any "win now" teams to give anything for him. I have settings on hard...favor prospects. Of course, would like a way to make some trades without feeling like I'm ripping off the AI. Maybe that middle of the road isn't possible right now.

Do any of them need starting pitching? Their rotations might be set but they might bite for a utility infielder.

The AI doesn't like to trade for things it doesn't think it's weak in.

Here's a question for anyone who knows:

If I set Trading Options/Trading Preference for "Favor Veterans" or "Heavily Favor Veterans", will that tend to prevent teams from going into Rebuild mode?
