Realistic Stats & AI - Modern Day MLB

Anyone played with this section under "League Settings" and gotten realistic current day numbers? Or is it pretty good just out of the box? I'm shooting for modern day realism so if anyone has any input on settings before I begin simming I'd really appreciate it.

Perfect out-of-the-box for current day MLB.

Over time you will experiment with the 1970's, 1980's, 1940's etc and you will find that those modifiers are pretty damn good.

IMO, the only time you ever need to play around those is when you take the final plunge into pure fictional. Then you get exactly what you want whether it be a softball league with high HR totals or an extreme gravity enviorment on Mars with low HR totals.

In the meantime, don't worry about those modifiers. They're golden.

I agree. I messed around with some of the league setup functions, especially the player evaluation percentages, and I manually turned off some of the league evolution settings, but otherwise, it's solid.

It's amazing what a great product Marcus has made. I shouldn't critter-size him as much as I do but since so many people blindly pat him on the back I prefer to be the voice of hard-truths.

Love the game and how excellent it is. It is my favorite all-time game ahead of CIV IV. You'll find things that you don't like over time and you'll find that you get a lot of resistance from the community when you discuss things that you don't like. Just keep in mind that your voice (and mine) is what made this game so great.

Marcus is famous for delivering.

His interactions with his customer-base, his responsiveness, and his dedication to his work puts him at the top of a very short list of the best video game developers in the world.

Great things happen around here.

Yeah, turn off league evolution until you are very familiar with the game. It should be off by default.
