Bidding War. . . or mind game??

I was in a bidding war for a middle of the road starter.
It went on for 19 days until I quit and got the guy pissed off when I withdrew my offer.
He was a 26 year old knuckleballer, good talant and ratings except for velocity which is 1
and with with decent stats, but I was intrigued so I decided to go after him to see if I can get him cheap

My team and the other team which play in different leagues btw (so it was not to protect themselves) were bunny hopping until my bid went up to 4mil+ for 4 or 5 years

But I decided it was in my best interests not to risk it and pulled back.

He signs the next day!!! for, I will let you see it....
Signed as a free agent by Providence on 2/19/2008 to a 3-year deal worth $789,400 per year...

Now that was interesting, I put a player tracker tag on him just to see how he will do.

I went to the trade screen just to see what they would ask for, and sure enough the list was very short, they wanted a lot, so they must see something in this kid who they got for a song.

Not upset at all, but very amused,

Anyone with a similiar experience?

After two months, my team is doing pretty good (2nd place)
My#5 starter was sucking eggs 0-4 7+ERA (good talent in everything else, except doubles), so I shopped him around, and I traded for this guy Javy Lieva.
His record is not good but it is the team's fault, this is the guy who told me off when I withdrew my 4 million dollar offer.

The funny thing is that he signed a 3 year deal for 700 grand per, but his contract is now 300K for 1 season, what's up with that? Bug or something?? (solo league-no cheaters here

I wonder if he will get back at me by stinking up the field with bad knucklers

Check his history to see if he was cut by the team and resigned for a 1 year deal.
