The FBL (Federal(but fictional) Baseball League) using OOTP15 (screenshots included)

Hey guys, for the last few years I have updated a league I originally made in OOTP 13 - the FBL. I have done the same with this year's version. The update means getting rid of all of the old players from the old FBL - in other words, it uses the improved algorithms for player creation. It also includes improved feeders for a better balance in long running leagues. Of course it also includes logos for the:

Majors
AAA
AA
A
SSA
Rookie

These leagues also have matching uniforms and caps

Majors

A

Finally, I wanted to include some screenshots from the quickstart using OOTP 15. I think the new color scheme really makes these logos and jerseys really pop. As always, this quickstart is a tribute to the incredible modding community. I simply put the quickstart together - the actual logos, uniforms and caps were all created by men more talented than I. It's not an online league, it's a quickstart league for solo play.

Glad to see FBL will be available in OOTP 15 Cody. I didn't actually play much solo OOTP 14, but when I did, it was FBL.. I really wish there were more quickstarts out there as I don't really have the time like I did when I was younger to set up leagues all on my own.

The FBL is a great quick start and gets my recommendation!

Cody, thanks much for updating your FBL. I have enjoyed playing it in prior versions of OOTP and really look forward to playing it in OOTP15. Your efforts are much appreciated.

I tried putting this into my OOTP14 game to see if it runs there so I can look around and see what players, teams and whatever are there but it doesn't load, says that I have to use ootp 13 to use it. Weird. I guess because it was made from a different version. I will have to wait until 15 to look around but I am pretty sure this is the league that I am going to start with. Thank you!

Yeh, this file is only for 15. Please redownload the file from above as I had to make a change to an issue I found.

First off, let me say thank you for this quickstart; it looks great so far. However, I notice that New York and Miami do not have owners and I cannot figure out how to add them. If there is not an owner, I don't get the option to edit them like normal... Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but if you get a chance could you please take a look to see if it's a problem on my end? Thanks again for your work on this.

There's definitely a V14 version out there.. I think it's in Adds on Central and if not, there should be a link somewhere on this forum.

Cody, I have been immensely enjoying the FBL from 14 and I just transferred the league over to 15. I am using some historical players in this league, too, but I have noticed that the facegen's for the historical players isn't accurate.

Does the FBL that was designed for 14 only work for 14? If it is functional after moving it over to 15, is there something that i should be doing to get the facegen function to work properly for historical players?

I thought I might be able to add those owners, but I couldn't figure it out either.
Very strange, if there is an owner you can edit them, however if there isn't one then there seems to be no way to add them.

This looks awesome and summer starts for in a week, so I can't wait to get this one rolling. I wasn't able to figure out the owner thing either. Another question I have though is about the personnel: only the big league team personnel has contracts. Does anyone know if the personnel for the minor league teams will be released once I finish the inaugural draft and move forward to the next day. Or should I offer all these guys contracts?

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure on this - perhaps the facegen folders have changed between 14 and 15. Can you check within the foldrs to see if the fg files moved over?

The Owners thing is a bug that Markus says cannot be rectified I'm afraid. I am interested in re-doing the entire league with a few different teams, etc going forward but that work has been put on the backburner for now.

The personnel is my fault as I simply forgot to do one thing that will assign contracts within the setup panel - I believe there is an option called assign fictional personnel contracts. You can go league by league (aaa, aa, a, etc) and click this button and that should be fixed up. I really wish I could fix the owner thing though.
