The 30 they put on Cleveland over the weekend helped, but he A's have the best run differential in MLB (+95), by quite a wide margin.

Yea, that was a little extreme for the umps to throw out Kasmir. But we got to see Otero do his thing.

Athletics Claim Jeff Francis Off Waivers From Reds ? MLB Trade Rumors

Minor move but a long man in the bullpen is needed now that Pomeranz is in the rotation.

Francis is a veteran with some pretty marginal numbers over the years but FIP suggests he's had poor defenses behind him a lot. Maybe Oakland will be good for him (can say that about most pitchers).

Are they the best team in baseball right now? Only the Giants could argue IMO just because the NL west might be stronger.

Well I might be just a little bit biased but I think they are the best team in baseball right now.

I don't know. He just doesn't look that good. Then again, he's been in Colorado for most of his career. If he's a fly ball pitcher, he'll do a lot better anywhere else. Of course, he'll have to be a lot better just to be average... which is why he was on waivers in the first place.

I think they are better than the Giants. But at this point I'd have a hard time saying they're better than the Tigers. It would probably come down to a game 5 with Verlander pitching.

Me and my better half are going to the A's game in Toronto this Friday. I'm enough of a fan of the A's to possibly get extra tickets to the Sunday game.

I might be a little biased against the Giants. Other than the lack of respect Giants fans have toward the A's. Aaaaand the whole stadium debacle.

Another thing came up recently is that the Sacramento River Cats want to switch to a Giants affiliate. And the Giants want a closer AAA affiliate.

It looks like the Giants will screw the A's out of San Jose and Sacramento.

Pomeranz.. three starts, fifteen innings pitched, fifteen K's, and not a single run allowed. Apparently only working from the stretch is working out for him.

That's really sucky but I don't think there's much the A's can do about it.

And Brett Anderson's on the DL in Colorado. So far so good on that trade.

I can complain and complain! It makes me feel justified in my grumpyness.

It's not surprising about Brett on the DL. He was real talented and I wish I could see him put together a full, healthy season. Of course, I don't think thats ever going to happen. It's a shame.

Checkout out the Detroit/Cleveland boxscore and just realized that Jason Giambi was still playing.

Let's Go Blue Jays!

Good ballgame that could have gone either way. The Dome may be open tomorrow. Not such a HR haven when that happens.

JD Walkoff!

Monday's thumping notwithstanding, the A's offense has really been sputtering lately. But if you can get pitching like Kazmir gave last night you can still win a few.

There isn't anything better than sweeping the Halos.

Yes, though sweeping the Giants is right up there.

Yea, the A's sweep of the Giants sweep of 1989 was the best I've ever seen.
